Rear Diff Options - Power Oversteer Found Here
Evo IX's are TTB + 5 points bone stock. Doesn't give you a ton of points to work with.
No, because I hope to try some NASA TT action in a year or two and that kit adds mod points. I have taked some with Nate (boomn929) who is doing well in TTA and he feels like the points would be better used elsewhere.

if i could go back i think the rear diff is the FIRST thing i would have done, period. i'd honestly be happy racing the car with the rear diff and the bushings i've done, and gradually working up suspension and power instead of the other way around
Just wanted to weigh in after spending some more time with my TRE Diff:
I had originally felt a little disappointed with it as I was expecting a bit more power oversteer, however, after spending some more time getting to know it, I completely take that back! My first test run putting the diff through its paces was at Streets of Willow Springs, a fairly tight, low speed track. Now that I've been able to play around with it, I see that it's the higher speed sweepers where this diff REALLY shines. After being able to break the rear end loose on a 4th gear 85 mph sweeper, I could not be happier. Now that I'm learning how it behaves, I'm having a much easier time getting the car to rotate and absolutely falling in love with this diff all over again!
On a side note, I've had the diff in for almost a month now and have it filled with the OEM Diaqueen LSD oil, and have yet to hear a peep out of it. It's been completely streetable and no different in noise from the stock diff, meaning it's pretty much completely silent. It has no problem locking up, however!
I'm still contemplating getting an ACD reflash, and I think that will be my next modification. I have no problems getting the diff to lock up, but still feel like the ACD is not aggressive enough around mid corner right when I get on the gas. I suspect the Gruppe-S reflash will help remedy this.

did you change the set up at all after adding the rear diff?
Can anyone give me their experience on the diff feels on the street? Also, if anyone has drag raced with it? How do you guys like it in the street? Does it feel different while daily driving or taking a turn a little bit too fast?
I just really hate the way that the Evo handles in general and I want to see if this diff will make it better.

what setup are you running? if it's something inherent to the car i mean that's just how front heavy awd sedans are gonna handle.. maybe you should try like elise or cayman?
in my opinion it doesn't handle any differently on the street in corners etc. but then again I'm never pushing my car on the street. where it really comes out is when you're on the throttle in a corner. at least that's how mine works (cusco). otherwise i actually like the way my car handles right now on my set up..

The rear diff is basically going to give you some more rotation on corner exit, pretty much just when the car is on power, ie when you're apexing a corner. Otherwise the car behavior is going to, in general, be the same
well no, you said you hate the way the evo handles in general, which prompts a question in terms of the general behavior of the car.

gotcha. yea in terms of entering the corner, probably won't do too much. more just for exiting. i think it does depend some on if you get 1 way or 1.5 way though
