I've pretty much accepted the fact that the Diff will NOT be in on time for me to use it at the track this weekend.

...If i can't get a tracking number in the next day or 2 I'm going to have to request a full refund plus he can buy the core off me since I already had to buy one so that my car is drivable

maybe I'll just go cusco too in that case.

I smell a paypal dispute in the making...

Jon, I really hope you did ship the diff and you've just been too busy to give me the tracking, I hope its on my door step waiting for me.
You seem like a really reasonable guy so I'm sure you understand me when I say I'm really starting to get frustrated here.

I dd my evo as well. When I was looking at getting a TRE diff I contacted SpeedElement and they had a few diffs left. Its not on their website but sometimes they have a few in. That was the only way I would have been able to make this happen since I couldnt afford the downtime like you. I probably would have gotten a Cusco as well if it wasnt for SpeedElement hooking me up.

yea Devin said Jon has been too hard of a man to get a hold of so even though they had a spare diff ready to be worked on he couldn't get it turned into a max lock.

so I just tried doing it on my own since i was able to get a hold of Jon...at least every now and then

phone line has been busy for a while........Jon I replied back to you pm with my Number

I was at TRE yesterday for about 3 hours just hanging out and watching the master at work. You really would not believe the amount of calls he gets. If he answered every one of them he would not be able to get ANY parts built at all. I know it is a pain - but if you want the best (and his products ARE the best) - then we have to deal with the fact that he is only one man. Sometimes he has to answer the phone and let work back up a bit, sometimes he has to ignore the phone and get **** built and pumped out of there.

Trust me, I know what it is like worrying about missing a race waiting on parts. Sux. Every year I try to plan further ahead but inevitably it always comes down to the week before the first race I'm slamming to get the car finished.

Once you get your diff - you will love it. You can always keep the other one as a spare or resell it.

any of you guys considering adding this mod? https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...grade-tre.html

i can't decide if they're saying it's more for drag racing/big launches or if it's needed for road racing/autocross too

Crazy, I must have caught him right after it happened cause he was running around the shop trying to figure out how to fix it and get it cleaned up. You must have beat me by a few minutes!

I was not planning on the new rear diff cover until they took my, what I thought to be fine, rear diff apart and the bearing was spinning on the diff cover. It had scored the cover both axially and horizontally and I could see how the small amount of flex could let the rear diff move around and mess with the gear mesh on the ring and pinion. We tossed my bad cover into the junk bin with about 50 others laying in there and machined up a new cover in his mill. You know the use my car has seen. Mostly AX and track days since this diff went in, with about 15 drag passes between 10.9 and 11.4 . . .

I am always for any mod that is for helping extend reliability/durability. With that said, If your evo is mostly dd then its probably not so necessary. If you even frequent autox at least once a month then I would probably consider it, funds willing. As I start tracking more and more I personally like these type of mods that will help keep me at the track and less on the lift. my .02

I got my fully modded max-lock with the HD side cover and sight glass option back from Jon. in about 2 weeks after my rear diff arrived at TRE. It looks great and I can hardly wait to get it in and try out some oversteer. I'm only bummed because I got the burly "Russian" version of the HD side cover, while now he's CNC'ing a much better looking version...
