There was a little noise at first, not very loud at all, you notice it more under 5mph, but now it sounds normal now, got 200miles on her and its fine!

I emailed TRE last night. Jon responded about an hour later. Said he's still moving shop and will not be ready until the end of Dec. I will wait patiently.

For what it's worth, what decided for me was: I call Shep, and he answers right away ever time. I called TRE, no answer. Sent TRE an email, and received a reply four months later. By then I had already swapped cores with Shep. Needless to say, I'm now enjoying my Shep 12 plate.

True. If it wasnt for SpeedElement having a TRE diff in stock at the time I would have gone with something like a Carbonetic unit.

I almost wish you had, I'm really curious to hear someone's reviews on the carbonetics, and see if it holds up to all the claims it makes.. Anyway I'm really satisfied with the Cusco

http://www.amsperformance.com/cart/c...lsd-front.html

They make a 1.5 way front diff for acd evos. I read on here about non acd evos getting aftermarket front LSDs, but Im wondering if its any benefit to upgrade the front diff on acd evos? Oem is 1 way iirc, the carbonetics is a 1.5 way. Im thinking that might induce more understeer though.

I heard it is - I remember a few years ago a lot of people were running qauife or wavetrac - typically 1-way in the front though. I'm sure all the diff parts compliment each other.

bump - is the stock diff modified with the TRE a "torsen" clutch pack type diff?

FYI just a mini update -

my Cusco didn't click or chatter.. it violently banged. swapped the amsoil svg gear 75w90 w gear lube to OEM diaqueen straight 90 gear lsd oil, and the thing doesn't make a peep anymore.

Thats one reason Im interested in the Carbonetics diff. Using any other GL5 redline fluid my diff is quiet, although it does have better performance with the 'loud' fluid.

definitely let me know if you decide to try that diff - i'm particularly interested in their claims of gradual lock up and stronger lock up due to the materials used. the cusco overcomes clutch type lock ups using some trick springs, don't know how others do it.

i'm definitely very satisfied with the oem diaqueen though, i wish i changed to it sooner. seems these diffs simply just really prefer the straight 90 stuff - i thought a better fluid would be better, but its not. not a peep anymore, and if it doesnt perform quite as well, that's fine, i had more lockup than i needed

When I was living out in your neck of the woods I was able to find at almost any napa auto parts store.. http://www.soloperformance.com/Red-L...NS_p_1181.html this is the stuff, I dont remember them having a 80w140 version of it though.

Out here where Im living at now seems like I will probably have to order it online.
