hi,

i want to build a 9 sec evo 9. i have a full built 2.1l motor from buschur racing and stage 3 head. i am running a gtx35r turbo with 3 inch down pipe and full 4 inch exhaust. i recently upgraded my rear diff to cusco and my transfer box to sheptrans stage 2 transfer box. i recently destroyed my gearbox(front) lsd while launching the car at full revs so i decided to upgrade it to a quaife lsd.

i want to know if i can run slicks on this setup with the standard gearbox?

with my set up is it possible to get down into 9 secs?

i plan to get bigal from dynoflash to tune my car

thanks for any help in advance, greatly appreciated.

Slicks will actually be easier on your drivetrain than street tires or drag radials. They have a bit more "give". Your setup should be capable of 9's on race gas or E85.

Also, I would suggest a different tuner unless Dynoflash is your only option. Being in Barbados, he is probably your best option unless you're bringing your car to the states. . .

Don't do it … just say no. Seriously, you'd be better off learning how to tune your own car.

So, did the weir install last weekend., 8 disc. All is well, using amzoil. The rear end popped and clicked and jittered around corners. Added LSD fluid and that seemed to take care of everything except the jitter around corners. Thinking I need to move to diaqueen oem. Questions is--for those using the daiqueen, does the car get a slight vibration ie jitter around corners as the clutches slip at low speed around corners or does this go away with oem--? Just those who know for a fact pls. Have to buy diaqueen by the gallon, and its too expensive to guess.

It won't help, that's just the way they are, enjoy having a diff that works.

That's not my experience. I run Diaqueen in my TRE MaxLock and it is silent. Same as stock - quiet and smooth.

i think a lot depends on the diff, like people said - my cusco has been banging like no other and i have tried all sorts of fluid combinations - just on oem diaqueen now though, seems a little better noise-wise than the amsoil svg-gear with lsd friction modifier

Dropped mine off at the shop tonight, mainly for a t-case rebuild but this is getting done as well. I'll likely be reporting back on Wednesday night.

does anyone know if a 2003 evo witha TRE rear diff upgrade will handle as well as a 9 with TRE upgrade? I wanna build a road car and need to kno if having the ACD will be crucial for lap times

there will probably be some benefit from the locking characteristics compared to a viscous. you could go aftermarket though. acds also now have the benefit of being tunable

I'm originally from there and we have other options for sure....including locally. Heck a lot of the other US companies have already done remote tunes there.

As long as you have a good front diff, they will both do well. The 03 transfercase/center diff setup is much lighter too.
