Fp Black vs HTA 3582
there was just a thread on there some guy just made over 800hp with the hta3582. i don't see that power coming out of the black.. ive been running a hta 35r on my car for quite while now. and everyone talks about how bad the spool is to be honest its really not that bad. yeah maybe be a difference coming from a stock framed turbo. but i love that turbo and i probably wouldn't go with any other turbo, specially being as my car is a street car. makes awesome power and she screams!!

Not to mention you don't have to spin the crap out of them, make tons of boost to make good exceptional power. So T3-T4 turbos produce less heat and more power at 25 psi than RED OR BLACK more ideal in a race/tt setting. Just less response down low.
HTA.82 TS Seems to be a perfect road race turbo. RED and BLACK maybe street autocross HPDE, perfect application for 80% of evo owners.

+1 you do realize that the more power you have the more things that break. More headaches more parts required built tranny TC etc. 600 is pretty extreme for the street. Good luck controlling the idle and sound in that thing.
what ever you do dont push it for that extra 20whp that the other guy got, unless your numbers are safe

Ultimately it depends on what one really intends to do with it. But as for daily driving, few track visits on 93 octane as per our discussion, the 35R brings no real advantage.
Now, if we're going to talk about built engines with E85 or race fuel and more than 10 seconds of pleasure (e.g. a real road race), then we can wax poetic about the advantages of all the upgrades this side of F1. For the daily driven, weekend drag, pump fuel car however, turbos like the FP Red and Black are minor masterpieces that bridge what used to be a sizable gap in turbo selection with considerable compromises on either side.

SO supporting mods makes all the difference and drives the cost up in till you might as well own a full track car.
My time attack evo runs a HTA 82 on a 2.3L stg 3 JAM with a AFI TS. Full boost (2bar) at 3600 or so! But my EGT's and engine bay temps are considerably less than a stock turbo spinning to 38 psi to make the same power.

AHHHHHHHHHHH MIKE just got 719whp and 631wtq out the fp black tonight. 35r eat your heart out keeps getting better and better for black owners that want to push the limits and yes it was with 40psi

Sounds like you already have. Reasonable customers try to discuss problems with manufacturers before they start these internet posts -- have you done that?
