there was just a thread on there some guy just made over 800hp with the hta3582. i don't see that power coming out of the black.. ive been running a hta 35r on my car for quite while now. and everyone talks about how bad the spool is to be honest its really not that bad. yeah maybe be a difference coming from a stock framed turbo. but i love that turbo and i probably wouldn't go with any other turbo, specially being as my car is a street car. makes awesome power and she screams!!

HTA.82 TS Seems to be a perfect road race turbo. RED and BLACK maybe street autocross HPDE, perfect application for 80% of evo owners.

Well said evan if i had to do it all over again i would have a bought a 35 r or 6262 now im going to change my setup in the fall to a 6262 i just wasted my money on the red it very limited to what a 6262 or 35 r can make...Plus the top end feel sucks.

+1 you do realize that the more power you have the more things that break. More headaches more parts required built tranny TC etc. 600 is pretty extreme for the street. Good luck controlling the idle and sound in that thing.

i feel the same, mine was 338whp, then 391whp, now 490whp. this was all within 3000miles, i just need the next power increase and 600whp is what I want too on pump.

what ever you do dont push it for that extra 20whp that the other guy got, unless your numbers are safe

Go grab yourself a black and take a picture of your engine bay a year later, you'll have a T3 in there.

For the daily driven, weekend drag, pump fuel car however, turbos like the FP Red and Black are minor masterpieces that bridge what used to be a sizable gap in turbo selection with considerable compromises on either side.
^^^ +1 Again 80% of all evo owners will only need up to a black for power and durability. Its kinda like when these kids think its cool to put big cams (11.0+ lift 280 + duration) on a stock head because it "can" make the most whp, but the reality the stock valves and ports wont flow more than 10.8 or so lol.

SO supporting mods makes all the difference and drives the cost up in till you might as well own a full track car.

My time attack evo runs a HTA 82 on a 2.3L stg 3 JAM with a AFI TS. Full boost (2bar) at 3600 or so! But my EGT's and engine bay temps are considerably less than a stock turbo spinning to 38 psi to make the same power.

Sounds like you already have. Reasonable customers try to discuss problems with manufacturers before they start these internet posts -- have you done that?
