I got one of the ACD-Tuning flashes before he disappeared and its fantastic. I sent my acd ecu to a buddy of mine (stock, non stacked diff) and he said it transformed the car. He was able to awd drift the car out of a corner if needed and the steering was lighter just driving around. He said overall the car was much better . 3 settings with gravel being full cowboy mode.

The ACD flash made more of a difference for me then the restack but they do complement each other. The restack does change the way the car moves at low speeds in and out of parking spaces or slow turns it will chatter a bit.
For streetcar stuff, If you were only going to do one of the two or wanted the car to stay smoother I would do the flash over the restack.

I drove with just the restack for a while and agree it's not quite enough compared to restack + ACD tune, however just the restack is still much better than no restack.

Hahaha exactly I saw Tom offer the 6 map for $100 and I ordered an acd ecu from ebay last night for $33 with free shipping. The second I get it I'm gonna ship it to him.

I will report back here with results.

current setup (which I love)
-365whp
-OEM size Hankook RS-3 on 8.5 wide RPF1's
-Ohlins DFV ( swift 8/9k springs)
-swift RSB
-whiteline RCK

I'm just trying to help out. I'm only making $50 on that deal and doing all the work (bench flashing, etc). I have to share my profit with the person who originally gave me the 6 map system.

As I said before also, we can mix the maps with our maps with people that want both. I'm pretty certain our maps do the same thing as everybody else's though. There's only so much you can do to improve the car drastically.

Not sure if you're aware of this but you can drive your car without the ACD ECU...so if having your car down is whats holding you up then no worries!

Lol yeah agreed although I dinked around town when I shipped mine out to ER. But my pump was failing all last season and it drove me insane trying to power out and I'd spin the inside front. With the pump working again man what a difference!

But I tell you with good suspension the right bushings TRE rear diff and and ACD tune makes this car do exactly what I want it to do. Its still a 3200# pig but it's still pretty friggin impressive to say the least.

interesting that you were spinning the inside front with the ACD disabled - you have helical LSD up front right?

I've had friends that drive on rcomps ride in the car and be amazed at how my car behaves. in certain corners I've accidentally pitched the car into 20 degree yaws at autox but the car will just hold it through the corner and not lose it. need to get back out there soon..

Yeah its the stock front diff which IIRC is indeed a helical. Same front diff as in your car...and yeah it drove me crazy when it did that. Such a weird feeling bc with my rear diff the backend would step out nicely but as im close to pointing straight and unwinding the wheel I would feel the inside front tire spin as it was trying to put power down. Makes sense bc the weight shifts to the back especially when in the powerband even with high spring rates.

But with my ACD functioning again the car felt so much better a few weeks ago. If only the driver was up to the task at hand...

I don't have enough of a break between events. I did score an ECU for $35. Was gonna save up to send it out, but now my rear diff seems to need refreshing. That comes first.

Ahh gotcha now Im picking up what you're putting down. I figured you weren't a newb like my buddy kyoo but you never know these days

Good luck getting your rear diff freshened up and I agree that's more of a priority.

Houston we have lift off. I reinstalled the English Racing tuned ACD over the weekend. What a pain in the *** to reinstall the ACD... Anyway, I figured I'd go for a drive as I haven't driven it in about 3 months. (I am stockpiling all my new parts, and will be installing them soon.) I didn't really push it too hard. I was on the street and the tires were cold, but upon first impression going into a corner I was pleasantly surprised by how light and free the front end feels. The steering wheel felt easier to turn also too, no more binding, kind of feels like a RWD car with the traction of an AWD car now. Amazing!

As the tires heated up, I tried all three modes and there was progressively more rotation with each one plain and simple. The last mode making it go kart-ish, which I like. Whoever said this should be one of the first mods was right on point. I highly recommend this mod if you know how to drive. If you are an amateur, go practice in karts or something where you can get used to, understand, and feel what rotation actually is.

All in all this should have been the way car came from the factory.

Suspension for reference:

ER ACD tune "Thank you Aaron!"
Whiteline 26mm Front Sway
Whiteline 24mm Rear Sway
Perrin PSRS with the Offset
TRE Max Lock Rear Diff
Ohlins Flag Series Coil-overs

nice review, pretty much mirrors my experience with ER's ACD tune. it really surprised me how much rotation it added, particularly in off throttle/corner entry. car just a lot more eager to turn, before this, sometimes felt like it resisted a little
