Ok so if I understand right are you insighting that if we don't use amsoil for dd our motors will break because valvoline, brad penn, joe gibbs etc is not to par with yours? I chose a street based oil being vr1 with a higher zink and phosphorus count then amsoil not full race as talon showed Valvoline VR1 NSL is a racing oil not the basic VR1 or VR1 Synthetic. I would be inclined to get amsoil if it were offered say local or like the VR1 at amazon which gives wholesale price plus cheaper shipping and if your a amazon prime member free 2 day or 3.99 for overnight.

No, he's telling you to get the best oil you can for your application, and he believes that you're not doing that with non-synthetic VR1. It's like tuning your Evo at the limit on 93 octane and then filling it up with 89 octane. Would you do that to save 15 cents a gallon?!?! I would hope not. The engine will not appreciate it, and it will wear down quicker. I think someone made the point best when he said you're confusing oil life with oil protection.

Well I already said im switching to synthetic vr1 once I do the next oil change im going to flush the mobile 1 out and also see about getting some gunk engine flush and clean the motor out a little and then use the VR1 Synthetic. It was wreakless969 that said it clear synthetic sticks better for DD and does not settle like conventional oil.

Any one notice any difference running a different weight oil say example going from 10w 30 to 10w 40 on stock internals?

I recently switched and everything runs fine but for some reason WOT just doesnt feel exactly the same. Almost like like the weight is a little on the thick side for factory tight clearances and is holding back 15 whp. Maybe its in my head but I am very sensitive to my car and any slight changes that ever occur.

Something I also noticed is there is a little less crank pressure from the valve cover vents with the 40 weight. I think I will switch back to a 30 weight and see what happens.

you got Product Code: AMOQT-CA right? thats 6.57 a quart for a box of 12. no way you paid 6 dollars even. We both get the same discount if you got the 6 month membership. so that means you paid about $16 bux shipping. Id say thats not bad. Theres no way I see that price getting beat.

Also you cant compare this oil to VR1, this oil ****s on VR1 big time.
