This is a question specifically geared towards the guys at FP...

After reading through the PDF, it states that Amsoil Racing Dominator 10w30 (which is my current oil) is suitable for use with my new Black... so just in case my turbo fails I want to make sure that it will still be covered under warranty.

if its one of the highlighted in yellow its covered. fp will take care of you as long as you follow their guidelines.

So what if you still have a stock bottom end. Will this 20-50 be too thick for the motor? I drive my Evo year round and the winter gets as cold as -10 sometimes. Out of that list my guess would be Mobil 10-40 racing 4-T. From the looks of it it has the highest properties. My guess its probably expensive though. Ill look into it.
Edit
Ok I looked into it and it looks like this is motorcycle oil and its about $10-15 a quart.

Well if this info is specific to the Red and Black only, then Robert had better clean up his otherwise very nicely written document. I don't think it says anywhere that it is ONLY for Red and Black. What it does say is "Do not use Mobil1 10w30 or any other “on highway” GF-4 oil in your 4G63 motor with any FP high output stock appearing turbo."
To me that would include the green, white, and the little HTA 68 for DSMs.
Earlier in the document he says things to suggest that he is talking about any 4G63 making more than 400 hp.
Dang, I hate it when good information goes bad!
"Official Release - Oct 8, 2010" pffft!
I'll be expecting a revision.
We can call it "Revision A" since it probably won't be the last one!

I'll repeat this:
If you want the highest thermal stability, best cold weather performance, and a detergent package that keeps the internals clean over many, many miles, use a fully synthetic, non-racing oil.

I wouldn't recommend 20w-50 for a factory engine, much less 20w-50 conventional oil.

See above. I'd go with a 40 weight fully synthetic. Yes, it does cost around $10 per quart.

Good lookin out Ted! Definitely good to know, considering I might be picking up a red or black, in the very near future...
so for stock motors, u recommend the ams oil SAE synthetic 10w-40, and for built motors, should use brad penn 20w-50?

Why did they wait so long to send this email out to their customers? The FP Black has been out for about a year now, and the red has been for alot longer. I've been running Mobil1 10w-40 on mine (when I had the stock motor) for about 800 miles. I hope it didn't do any serious damage to the turbo.
