I just noticed the OP avatar is the 10 second club. Have you actually gotten an evo into the 10's? I just thought that was funny. My car SHOULD runs on 10's but Im not putting that in my avatar unless it does.
Thats all.
Do what you want. 2.0 with a 6766 all day. Don't listen to anyone here. They just have the knowledge you have asked for and have recieved.

I thought about doing a 1/2 fill but decided that if I was gonna do it I should just do it. The difference in actual metal temp of the block between a fully filled and a fully wet block is 20* higher on the full fill (190 vs 170 at 170* coolant temp). A 36,000 btu oil cooler should keep it under control especially with the AMS pan on for the increased capacity.

I also fell in love with my 2.4L on my '98 Eclipse GSX with HTA3586. This thing made 727/711 whp/wtq at 35PSI on E85. Talking about one nasty street/strip machine. It would light the tires in 3rd with that torque.
My questions for you 2.4L guys. What "special" things do I need to do to the head to take on the 2.4L block. On my GSX, I didn't do anything special but just want to be sure for the Evo8.
Thanks in advanced.

I have one on the shelf ready to ship We use I beams that weigh 602g and are stronger than the 568g H beams I had in my motor for last year. Since it will come up I am sure, I built a better motor for this year. I will also go grab the 8900rpm log for those that need proof.
I'm in the middle of build a new engine. I blown my 4g64 2.1 LR (156mm) destroke, but now, I want to build a LR2.4.
I will use the 4g64 OEM 100mm crank and block, and I want to buy a 162mm i-beam rods. The question is, What type of pistons do i need? In my old setup used wiseco hd1400 K626M87 AP.
Can i use the same pistons part number or need other for the rod size?

You can't run 162mm rods with the 100mm crank. You run 156mm rods to make a 2.4LR

Call up English Racing and get Carrillo 156mm. They're right at 600g IIRC.
