for anyone that has crankcase pressure issues
Evo VII burning oil
Hello everyone.
I have a 2001 Evo VII that is having some issues. it reads 2psi crankcase pressure @7000 rpm, and is blowing the dipstick out at around 5000rpm. Compression test is 178,180,176,180. It is also makes a puff of oil smoke for about 2-3 seconds after coming off boost. I thought rings but comp is healthy and there is no oil on the plugs. I have also done a valve seal test, i.e; coasting down a steep hill and flooring it at the bottom, however no smoke appeared. Another thing it also takes a while to cold start (around 20-25 cranks), which leads again to the rings. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

check your downpipe and intake pipes for oil. the crankcase pressure could be pushing oil thru the seals.
if you dont have adequate venting at full boost then just put a spring to hold down the dipstick.
