I pick the car up on friday and will report back results. previously hit 313 hp 315 tq (remember numbers are less up at elevation)

more to come i will have him print up a comparison dyno graph from my tme turbo

Performed a boost leak check tonight, couldn't pressurize the damn car past 5PSI due to the absolutely huge leak I had at the throttle body/upper intecooler pipe connection. First thing is the coupler I have is too large for the throttle body (throttle body is 2.875 OD, I have a 3" ID coupler) and second is I was an absolute idiot and used an impact to tighten down the t-bolts which crushed my upper intercooler pipe. The pipe is no longer round, but oval. Oh well, lesson learned. I'll have to buy a new upper intercooler pipe

I thought that I was the only one that had done this particular trick. Well, join the club.

Fixed the leaks, ended up being the coupler was too loose (wrong size for the throttle body), not the pipes fault. Also found another leak further down on my upper intercooler pipe, and my omnipower 4 bar is leaking as well (still need to fix that). Other than that she seems good again, boosting to 31psi, dropping to about 19 at redline. She is pulling hard in 97 degree weather.

I've been running mine for about a month now, boosting up to 31psi. Zero problems with it and the car hauls major ***, just haven't got around to taking it to the dyno again yet.

Im curious to see more detailed pictures of other housings that people purchased. Did I get a bad apple? who knows. Either way, Ive heard teh verdict from Robert about this housing, and I dont need to see independent tests at this point . I cannot afford another turbo failure to test something from ebay like this. ive heard kinugawa being reputable, but my experience speaks differently. Enjoy your housings folks, Im sure some(most) will run well! The reason mine specifically failed was related to the exducer of the turbine able to leak gas and cause bearing load problems. Clearly seen in the second to last photo.

Robs comments kinda made me think twice about going with this housing. I guess we'll see how many more fails come about due to the housing.

Out for guinea piggin'!

It looks like MAP might be using the 11.5 cm hotside on their EF turbos. Check out this pic posted by Kidloco51. Its got the A3N casted into the hotside, so its definitely not a stock hotside, and I recall the Kinugawa hotsides having this exact appearance for the A3N casting on theirs.

EDIT: I suppose it could be a Kinugawa 10.5 cm hotside housing.

MAP's new turbos use a 10.5 hotside as per their site

Mrfred, looks like a definite manufacturer match. I'm still not convinced this is a "bad housing". I'll be at the dyno again sometime in October.

Yeah, me neither. Just an interesting observation.
