right I agree...but then the chips would be on the other side of the impellers.....and I am trying to learn..cant blame a man for wanting not to be ignorant...the only logical explantation is the wheel shook loose and failed.....if debris passed through the turbo....there woudl be chips on the inside wheich there arent..look close

I showed this thread to a expert 4g63 man who shall remain unnamed - - he said your problem was frolm excessive HEAT - running the turbo too HOT and the engine too lean and too hot

BTW - can you describe exactly when and where and how this problem developed?>

the "plan"

"Um no...you redid your motor twice...read your own posts...and if u were smart....u would have built your motor FIRST then play with it...not too smart...and Im not a copycat....from you at least...I copied the HKS evo 7. Smart tuners....make a plan...set a goal...build to suit...youre just like that messy kid in the playground who runs around wild running into ****...no plan .....I cant believe these guys let u tune their brand new cars with your dynoflash...I have to say one thing about Shiv thats positive...He seems to know what he is talking about ...from a tech perspecitive...he understands the technology and the science behind it....but his service sucks...I called there a few months ago and the answering machine said they would call back within 48 hours....anyway....when choosing a tuner or mechanic ....I try to look for a man with a plan...and an understanding...you pay professionals for their expertise and experience....you have none with mitsubishis except your own...and nothing compared to shiv....id just be weary of this dynoflash thats all....seems you dont have a set plan for your car...and with all the mods u should be running 10s even 9s...so id have to say overall you get a big F ( for fraggle

the dream
"Im close by miami .the car is jussssssssssssssst about done..just dialing it in...goes on the dyno tomorrow hopefully...but again... IM NOT building a race car...and Im not entering the horsepower wars on here...Im hoping to put about 400 to the wheels...anything else is gravy on 93 octane...it will be a very detuned motor...so it will be dependable...my car was totally stock before this...again I had a plan...so i dont have to disassemble this 4-5 times..."

Remember when you were making fun of me when I was dealing with a few small issues on my car - eg when my valve guide tip broke off or when I wanted to change my pistons - etc ? You attacked me by saying I didn't have a "plan"

I told you back then there is no such thing as having a "plan" in this game

You learn from your mistakes and you make it better next time

If you just want to drive it and no have any issues - stick with a slow Ferrari or BMW

IF you want serious power and speed out of a 2.0 L 4g63 - then you are going to have a few bumps along the way till you perfect the soup - - which is what I am working hard to do

Both you and that Nick were on my ***** saying what an idiot I was only a few weeks ago and how great the AEM set up was - - - now your car is DOA and his car is running as slow as a stock evo with a giant tubro and stand alone - go figure man.

I wish you the best of luck on this project and hope you have the determination to keep going forward and not give up becuase of a few silly problems - - - next time you will be more understanding when you hear of some other guy pushing the envelope who is having a few problems along the way - its part of the deal
my comments were more for your poor attitude than anythign else and the fact that u did all that massive hp on a stock block engine..and yes youre right about the aem issue...i did say it was better than a reflash on a high HP car...and yes u agree with me because u also have a AEM and now we are sitting in the same boat...lets not rock it...and yes im eatign my words that the reflashes dont work well on lower hp cars...dynoflashes work well and id actually say its one if the best if not the BEST MOD YOU CAN DO ON YOUR CAR WHEN U FIRST GET IT and customer satisfaction seems to be the best of any product Ive seen on here...but youre not batting 1000 there was ONE unhappy customer...and I know there were issues that were his fault and IM sure you resolved it...i can admit it your system works..and the only thing that hurt our "plan" was the aem issue and possibly a faluty turbo...but u cant say the plan didnt work...frank will now have an ALL SfP.net car with mny evo fromn oil pan to his turbo system...and we will make 500+whp on 93 octane and aquamist...I just hope it helps the next guy who wants to do it ...and he can have a "plan" thats proven

same boat?
"Your posts said your bearings were going and you were strecting your head bolts on your stock motor...Now...a bad valve guide...a good mechanic would have picked up before he reassembled the motor....seem like u will spend more on yours than i will when all is said and done so I guess we are in the same boat

I think it is pretty safe to say that something got in there !! if the blades "touched" down and hit the housing can be investagated by taking the turbo apart and checking each component ... just my 2 cents

Pesto on "mistakes"

Mistakes...by pure definition a wrong action or statement proceeding from faulty judgment, inadequate knowledge, or inattention
Thats what u do when u do R&D u make alot of those...and thats what youre doing....not a bad thing...we all make mistakes...even when we try not to....but only a fool doesnt learn from others or his own

more pesto

let me clarify the mistake issue..by pure definition a wrong action or statement proceeding from faulty judgment, inadequate knowledge, or inattention
NOW if youre saying that you werent making mistakes...then that means you were purposely doing modifications that you already knew or had knowledge that would be ineffective...and in that case i agree...you wouldnt be making a mistake....but that would just make u a moron

Ive been in amazement with some of the lack of pathway knowledge some tuners are saying
I suppose becuase you work on this stuff all day long you've now seen it all then, eh?

This is EXACTLY why I don't bother posting in the tech forums....noone is after the actual reason or possible reason why something happened the way it did. Everyone seems more content to bury their head in the sand, or point the finger.

Saying there is no way that something could have gotten into the intake is not looking at all the possibilities. Again, what kind of filter was on there? What kind of intake pipe?
