No power to wheels when car is in gear.

Ok so not sure at all whats going on. I can put my car into any gear just fine without pressing the clutch pedal. While its in gear I have no power to the wheels. After inspecting the clutch and flywheel everything seems fine there. Any thoughts or help would be greatly apreciated.

Clutch or center diff are two places that come to mind.

clutch has less then 2k miles on it shouldnt be the problem and seems to be moving and doing everything fine. If the center diff is the problem would I be able to put the car into gear (with it running) without pushing in the clutch? My guess is its something between the clutch and the transmission I just dont know what exactly goes on between the two peices.

Check your ACD lines, pump and reservoir. If they're damaged the ACD defaults to open and you go nowhere.

The clutch pressure plate is bolted to the flywheel and the flywheel is bolted to the crank. If the engine is running all of this is spinning.

The clutch disk is splined to the input shaft of the transmission. Release the clutch and the pressure plate clamps the disk. Now, the transmision input shaft is also spinning. There isn't anything else going on between the engine and transmission.

BTW, if the center differential defaulted to no movement there'd be a lot of cars disabled because hydraulic pump problems are common.

I guess I'm the only who caught this... but if you can put your car into gear, with the car running, without pushing the clutch pedal, then it's something related to the transmission.

Your clutch is always engaged unless the throwout bearing is moved. If you can move the shifter around freely, either you're entire transmission is fcked, or your shifter linkage is not connected.

I'm curious, when you turn your car on do you still have to disengage the clutch (press the clutch pedal in) in order for it to start, or are you able to turn your car on without pressing the clutch pedal?

It might help if we had some 'how exactly did this happen' information.

Problem started when was driving on the highway. Down shifted from 5th to 4th. When I let off the clutch I had no power to the wheels. I didn't feel anything different and didn't hear anything break. Had music on which could of drowned out anything breaking.

Just a thought, but what is your clutch slave cylinder was stuck in the out position. Basically when you push in your clutch the slave cylinder is the last component in the system that actually disengages the clutch disk. If you can go into and out of gear without pushing in the clutch and can't get the clutch to engage I would start by looking there.
