E85 ready oils employ a phase separation inhibitor that makes them compatible with ethanol, particularly in cold climates. Oils that meet the latest API designation (SN) includes this update. Otherwise, check the manufacturer's website for clarification.
hm. something to think about. i rarely use e85 and it doesn't get too cold here. maybe i'll just continue to use the Rotella. i recently rebuilt my engine and didn't see any signs of sludge or other junk. it hasn't let me down yet (used it in my last three turbo cars).

I've only left something loose once. It was the front pass side sway bar bracket on the control arm. Didn't even put bolts in it. Was wondering why the front of car felt floppy on the test drive.

I posted it earlier:

Mobil 1 V twin, zinc--1750 phosp,1600
Amsoil-zinc,1575—phosp 1425
Brad Penn,zinc 1500—phosp 1340-1400
Motul—zinc 1330?-- phosp 1339?
Rotella T6, Zn 1264 ppm--P 1147 ppm

So I think I'll stick with Rotella or maybe Brad Penn for track days in the heat. They all really are close enough to each other for me. No sense in over paying for oil.

Full synthetics cost more but their high temperature stability is better than partial synthetics, and for something like a track day where temperatures can get quite high, I think a full synthetic makes great sense.

i could see that. i've used Rotella T6 exclusively on all my cars, as has a friend of mine. lots of track days. no issues nor complaints.

Our hydraulic roller valvetrains, belt cam drives, and steel/brass or roller bearing turbo setups largely exempt us from requiring much ZDDP in our oils.
wow I know this isn't that new of a post but you dropped some knowledge on me this morning

FWIW - I'm mailing out some UOAs today - one with about 40-50 runs of autox and one with 60min of track time - obviously a much different car from you but I'm curious to see the results. All samples on ZROD 10w30 but I may be switching soon...
