Any news on the new pump? I bought a 400lph a week or so ago, but have heard of a lot of failures, so I plan on switching to the new 460lph that is e85 compatible.

Well, this stinks.... I'm going to call Walbro today about this.

Read this short thread in the Supra Forums about it... Guy states that this new pump is NOT e-85 compatible because of brass internal parts, and apparently, a Walbro rep said the pump doesn't spin fast enough for e-85 use... - http://www.supraforums.com/forum/sho...walbro-400-lph

OK, I made that phone call and here's what I learned from Jim....

Here's the part number of the new pump coming from Walbro... part# F90000267
It will also be known as the Walbro 3950.

It is identical dimensionally (from what I'm told) to this latest Walbro 400lph pump, but it will be E85 compatible and it will flow about 460lph.

It is supposed to be available to distributors by mid-April... We will see, I guess.

Here's the contact information of the main supplier of Walbro pumps in North America and is where I talked to Jim

For reference, the normal Walbro pumps that we've all been using for 15 years are not E85 compatible either, this new 400 lph pump has never been advertised as E85 compatible.

We've sold at least 60 of the new 400's all of them have been used in E85 and I've had ONE failure. It was sent in for diagnosis.

The new E85 pump sounds good and we will have them as soon as they are released.

There is no reason for the current 400's to fail any faster than any normal Walbro pump, which have lasted great in E85.

I'm in agreement with Dave, and I'm three years into a Walbro 255 on E85 full time. Works as good as the day I installed.. Do you have any links to threads discussing multiple failures of the Walbro 400 on E85?

Just curious where the word of failures are coming from? I can't imagine too many being from evom since using this pump is so new.
