Walbro says the 255 isn't ethanol compatible. they even did tests that showed much reduced lifetime, but it was in pure ethanol. seems to do fine in e85. mine's still going strong after three years in e85.

Yes, think for yourself......................3 months after all the debating and someone else figuring it out. Great advise.

Still sore that you were proven wrong by myself and multiple competing companies? it'll be ok. Have a Merry Christmas.

You didn't prove me wrong, you argued, talked trash and everything else. You told everyone you bought a pump months ago and were going to prove me wrong. Instead you ended up just a follower like always, waited until others figured it out and then came in here talking more trash.

You trash talked to me in your initial response to my basic questions at the beginning of this thread. Pot meet Kettle. I am by no means a follower and my car/ accomplishments are a direct example of it. After all, my stock block fp red setup w/93oct+meth beat your fully built fp red project white on e85 by half a tenth. Who was I following with that one Dave? Then I went high 9s on a stock block in the only EVO over 3,000lbs . I'm a follower? try again buddy. No need to get your panties in a wad.

What is the purpose of this black plug thing?

Good question, a "friend" told me that if you install it wrong (rotated 180 degrees) the fuel pump won't work!

well here is a picture of mine i was able to use the bigger filter and stock retaining clip. took a little time trimming the stock retaining clip on the inside so it fit around the new pump and cut out the center section as well. i also beveled the inside of where the pump sits into so i could retain the tabs for the stock clip

and yes i know i accidently had the siphon tube on the outside when i took the pic but its all good now.

There is definately more ways than one to retain the stock retaining clip.

We cut and ground on the stock retainer too but in the end I thought it took away too much of the integrity and I was afraid it would fall off over time. The hose clamp I personally think is a better idea, but that is just my opinion.
