Guys, the bickering STOPS NOW or this thread will be closed again. Stop addressing each other and stop with the freaking insults. EVERYONE. This is a technical thread, it should only consist of technical details and facts. Next step is removing posts, next step is moving the thread to the trash. Last warning.

Merging this with the other thread.

Dude, quit stirring the pot. Dave is sharing tons of info on this pump and you are just being a dick and contributing zero. Please just QFT.

I had another vendor send me pics of this pump installed in the EVO8-9, the fuel pump cap is missing from the other picture I received. The fuel pump cap, now that I think hard about it, is why I thought the pump wouldn't work. If the fuel pump cap is removed the car will have no fuel pressure. I just made a video to show that but am not posting it. I posted a question in the other thread to see if MR re-installed it or not. I didn't think it would fit or seal and that is what kept me from making the initial cut. Now that I have the housing in my hand (no 400 lph pump though to test) it looks like if you ground very-very carefully you may just be able to squeeze the pump in there AND still retain the very important fuel pump cap. IF that cap can be retained and IT SEALS then I have to say I was incorrect and this pump can fit and be used in the EVO8-9......I wish I had a pump, should be here tomorrow.

Also for reference, the fuel pump cap and entire filter assembly are eliminated on the double pumper, so it's a non-issue.

I fully understand the argument your attempting to make, but I find it completely flawed since the height if the pump is not the issue. Yes it is wider, but obviously not too wide that a bit if grinding and a snug pushing fit can't fix. After all, the housing is plastic and has the ability to somewhat flex.

Regarding your claim of you think it still won't fit, did you not see how far into the housing the 400lph pump was before the install pic? It was all the way in just like a 255 otherwise the factory bottom bracket would not have snapped in place. In the last picture the pump assembly looked straight down and flush for the remainder of the nuts.

EDITED

Thanks for merging the threads. I'm done with the back and forth with dave now that my point is proven correct.

A super mod says stop the bickering NOW but Ryu keeps posting with obvious jabs after???

RYU STOP ADDING NOISE. PLEASE. You are adding nothing but noise. Every post. You don't have any tech or first hand knowledge in any of your posts. Do you have a 400 pump and Evo 8/9 pump assembly in your hands and are you doing the same R&D with your own findings?

Yes I do have a fuel pump assembly in hand. I will be ordering a pump this week. Based on the dimensions of the pump that I have measured against the housing is my reason for claiming so adamantly that the pump will fit. Others have already proven it now before I could get the pump in hand to do so myself.

This is a much better post type. When you get everything in and do your own cutting, measuring, testing, data logging, etc, please add your own findings in an intelligent and respectful way.

We had to cut a little more than what is shown above to get the barb to seal on the top of the pump which also negated the ability to snap on the lower retaining portion, thus we have to clamp the pump in place. We will take another look at it and see if the method above will work, but as with David we have concerns about it sealing at the top and we also feel the overall height would be too long.

Highly interested in further information coming to light regarding this pump. Thanks for everything you do for the community to all the vendors.

Well, Im in for results from a known tuner on whether or not this will fit. I would love to buy a double pump, but its just not in the budget and I feel its way overkill right now for my setup.

think of it like this. what is your final goals? do you ever see your self needed a double pumper? IF so then save up for one and do it right the first time. this pump and the mods to fit it will be around 250 bucks. then IF in the future you need to upgrade to a double pumper your going to need to buy a new stock pump hanger because this one is cut up. and then 500 on the double pump setup. now with this 400 pump setup ''250'' new hanger ''150'' and a double pumper ''500'' your over 800 bucks in a setup when you could have just spent 500 and never worry about it again.

thats just my opinion. safe up and just do it right.

Yea, I know lol. I am still on stock block, so I feel the hta green and the walbro 400(if its gonna be possible to use) with some fic 1450s will make enough power to blow the bottom end lol. Im tryin to keep the bottom end together as long as I can though. I dont really have intentions of buying a built block unless I run into some bad luck or find one for a super deal.

If it turns out that this does take a lot of work and fabbing and cash. then double pumper it is.
