Did you ever flow test the stock pump housing?

No, the pumps sell but not nearly as good as the double pumpers. I feel they are just another cost involved that some people will choose to spend BEFORE they finally get the double pumper. That seems to be the pattern anyway.

BR is currently building one of these for a customer of mine with the E85 pump. I will post a few pictures when I get it as this is a new service they offer.

Usually the pump will entirely fail so major engine damage is not much of a concern. I have seen a few occurrences where they electrically short out inside of the pump itself and that can be a bit messy but these are very seldom. Overall Walbro reliability has been very good and I have only seen 2 actually fail over time on the 50+ I have installed.

I used to run a 255 inline before the rail as well as a 255 in the tank, rewired.

The tank pump failed, but failed intermittently, so I almost destroyed my motor as it kept randomly going lean. One day the back pump cut out all together, but that was after a week of tuning and trying to figure out why I would randomly go lean. Thank God forged internals are forgiving .

so if I was looking for 550 WHP or less on say a dyno jet (E85) but wanted a pump gas tune too (93) what would be the ideal fuel pump setup for the best price?

Blue91lx - I have never personal seen issues like that you have shown there but I typically always recommend a fuel pressure gauge so you can monitor your fuel pressure.

The Walbro E85 pump should meet your needs.

there is no reason the walbro 416 E85 pump can not be used with pump gas. Walbro 416 would be my recomendation

The abnormal stuff normally happens to me. Now you can say you've seen a case where a Walbro failed slowly and almost caused a guy his motor.

I was tuning, doing pulls, and one pull would be lean, the other rich. I was so confused. I thought it was due to the temperature enrichment tables and the car was just switching between the two. Thus, I made both tables the same, went for a 3nd gear pull and gave me a good ole "bang" when I made full boost, and sure enough, it was completely lean.

It lasted for a day or so more doing the same thing, and then just stopped working all together. I used only the inline pump to get me around before my 400 came in .

E85 compatible Walbro - Pics

Picked up the E85 compatible Walbro 400 from Buschur last Thrusday.

Encountered fuel delivery issues after plugging it in the Evo. Currently troubleshooting with the guys at Buschur Racing.

I'll update the forum once the issue is resolved.
