I'm not sure where the oil is coming from, I found a little bit of it on top of the tranny, which is weird I mean air could have blown it all over the place but it being on top of the tranny is weird, and battery tray -- I'll go and get some oil dye as it does look like engine oil.

for the longest time with the help of my shop my car goes too we tried to diagnose the oil leak, after multiple checks, and using oil dye in the engine, turned out the backside of the head between 2&3 was seeping the oil along. So my head gasket had to be redone. So im not saying it is in your case, but I wouldnt rule that out either.

Yeah, engine looks very clean, it's the oil on top of the transmission dripping down to the sump, collecting on the bolt-heads just like the OP has it.

I think I found mine, it seeps around the oil pan and bolts, onto the bolt heads, down on the dp and there's the smoke.

Awesome stuff, win for you! I'm going to attempt re-gluing it tomorrow with some magic bond

Well in my case it wasn't an oil pan, but I found what it was and it was a oil feed line for the turbo, where it bolts to the head, wasn't torqued well enough and started dripping oil towards the bottom, which seemed like a leak from around the oil pan area.

That looks like just some residue, not a leak.

And FYI, your car is missing the bellhousing cover, you should get one..
