Clutch recommendations
Hello Evo Family, Its time for a new clutch on my 06 Mr...Im at 59,xxx miles and have a few questions about what clutch would suite me the best. The only mods i have are an invida catback exhaust and a cobb tunning air filter, i plan on just adding full intercooler piping, headers, and full exhaust- no cats in the future, and just some easy bolts ons thats it..Its my everyday driver and my only car...So my questions is what Clutch would u guys or girls recommend for me..I hear that the ACT clutches tend to lock out at high rpms, and that a Competitions clutch might be my best bet and im trying to stay under 600 bucks...but are there ant other clutches out there that would be best for me..Thank you for you time..Hope to hear from yall soon
i have an exedy twin disk and i like itbut i guess their life sucks. my cousin who is a tuner said to get a stage 3 competition clutch. a few people run them here and make over 600 to the wheels. so thats the next clutch i get
Like I just said in another clutch ? I'm at 360tq on an Exedy single disk and it's holding still. This clutch has taken some serious abuse so anyone with basic bolt ons I'd recommend this. I'm switching to Competition but only because I'm ready to put more power down.

I just started this the other day, read up. Comp clutches seem to be the way to go nowadays

well just having gone through this not that long ago.. I didnt want ti dump a ton of money into a clutch but then I was thinking how much I didnt like my ACT HDSS for daily driving ... I sit in traffic a lot.. Did research a lot of it. And pulled the trigger on the twin disk. Love the pedal feel and car just is much nice for my daily commute so that was the deciding factor for me..

I'm in the same boat and I plan on running a CFDF like in my Eclipse. It is rated at 2500lbs on DSMs, I'm thinking it is the same for Evos. Anyway, more then I'll ever need with the mods I plan on doing. But the clutch shifts like butter. Easy to DD with and has light pedal feel.
With your power level and mod and being a daily driver, just go with an exedy oem replacement. I used one and tracked my car for a season a half and then clutch still looks good when I removed the tranny for rebuild. I was pushing about 340whp. When I removed the tranny, I installed a clutch master stage 3. I've used them before with my Hondas and liked them. Smooth engagement and pedal is not so stiff. I switched from exedy because I thought I was going to be running more than 400 whp.
