New times with BR clutchless 4 speed
Unbelievable. In 30 years of racing at Norwalk I can always count on what's going on. Twice this year we've been shafted. First time we got rained out with no rain and a dry track.
This time my entire week was devoted to helping some other guys get their cars ready for personal bests/records and preparing the Bad Bish only to get there and be told that under sunny skies and 58 degree track temps it was too cold to run the full 1/4 mile and only an 1/8th mile would be run. It completely flat out ****ing pissed me off. The new track director at Norwalk is an idiot, didn't like him from the day I met him and now have zero use for his ignorant ***.
Let me tell you guys how the week went, obviously some of you are racers so you can understand we only have so many days, especially this time of the year, to get our jobs done.
We spent the first part of the week getting the Bish back together. Getting the RV serviced, new ramps to load the car and getting the car loaded up. Elvin, who we sponsor took a day off from work Wednesday to come down so I could help him get the car dialed in on nitrous to work with the auto. Josh, with his EVO powered Mustang, took the day off work Friday to come down along with Jimmy, who closed his machine shop down to have me also help him to get his car dialed in for Friday. Nick paid to transport his car from Pennsylvania to make one last attempt at bettering his 9 second times before going to the clutchless auto, he also cut out of work early Friday to drive over to drive the car he paid to transport.
The weather conditions were IDEAL for turbo cars, no better night all year to run than it was Friday, all to be ruined by a bad call by a douche bag.
It's a sad day I can't rely on the top track in the country to run and this is twice. We will find somewhere else to run and I guess my days of setting records at Norwalk is over. There are other tracks, I can't waste my time again.
There are some track rentals coming up at D43 and Thompson, I hope we can run there. If not maybe we'll go south.
Sorry guys, nobody is more disapointed than all of us who took time off from our jobs and families to race and be shot down.

Sad we didn't get to race but its always good to see great friends.
that was worth the drive alone.
Man that is terrible, talk about a douche of a new track director. 58 degrees sounds like a happy turbo to me! I hope you guys can tack on a few passes before the season is over.
We are going to try to run the car this Saturday at Thompson. Depends on scheduling, weather and if they actually plan to run the 1/4 mile.
Today we spent the entire day fitting the drivers side trans mount up again. Then building a fixture to build three I need for transmissions that are sold. We will be having the front and side mounts built by Torque Solutions, just need perfect examples to send down to have copied.

I am subscribing to this. Sorry to hear about that director. I dont think the sport of drag racing needs people like him making decisions on its behalf. Get him Fired. Have him go work at a track in Idaho or something.

Hopefully the Shootout will still be hosted there. I'm assuming it has already been reserved so maybe a stupid question
