In fact, it will get in the way of the desired specific turnbuckle location and desired overall actuator rod length.please.

Just try it my way and then you can always replace the nut later after we are done if it does not impede us from shortening the throw enough. I dont want to have to get mad and fly down there LOL.

Seriously, the stock actuator rod length and turnbuckle assembly only allow a couple threads of adjustment and I dont want the backup nut interfering because it will take up a couple threads of turnbuckle travel. I did one of these on Saturday and the backup nut interfered, although that was on an VIII turbo. But, I think they are about the same.
Well I tried playing with the actuator, didn't really make an appreciable difference to transient response, I figure I might need an 18psi actuator for that. TBH though I think it more to do with the inherent nature of a heavier rotating assembly and larger turbine. On that note, I swapped in the BBK Lite, and damn what a nice little turbo. The transition from off to on boost is much more linear, and transient response is much improved. Boost recovery is fast between shifts and how it pulls smoothly up into boost from under 3K in any gear is a feeling I've missed. It's still very controllable in terms of % throttle to % boost/power, but is more eager to come on boost that the full was - I like this more though, to me the full tended to feel a bit lethargic (I know this isn't the general consensus though).

It sounds like you hit on a good turbine sizing for your desires then. That sounds really good. I've gotten addicted to the BBK-3B after a couple more track days. The transient response is very controllable (more so than my BBK-Full actually) and power under the curve for my setup is improved. Once I addressed an exhaust leak, I actually don't feel that the BBK-3B spools slower than the JB Full.

Yeah the first drive when when I went boost tuning I just knew it felt right. I also fitted a JDM tarmac spec 8RS gearbox and the short, close ratio RS box/lite are a great match for each other. I'm running 24 psi (same as full) tapering to 22psi up top (1.5psi lower than the Full) and I'm down 15-20hp peak and ~6nm peak, but I've gained a lot of response and the feel the car has now is one I like better. As you said it seems it's just the 'right size' for my desires.

Glad you're liking the 3B, wish there was someone locally who had one. I think personally being that I'm real sensitive to lag and rotating assembly weight, with larger than stock turbines ball bearing would be the way to go for me or anyone looking for that quick transient response - it really changes how the entire car feels.

blackenedwings, do you have any track videos with the BBK-B BB? I actually recently bought mine upgraded from my BBK Full (JB) that has some wear/damage. Do you have a youtube channel? How much power and torque did you make for the track? What type of dyno for reference.

I have track videos (barbedwings on YouTube) but this season my GoPro has crapped out on me multiple times and I haven't gotten a single video. I just have DE videos with my old BBK-Full from last season up there. My TT2 tune is 421 whp and 341 wtq on E85. I've pushed the car a few more pounds of boost to see how it felt over 500 whp, but I can't run that much power in class, so I leave it on my TT2 tune. That is on a Dynapack dyno. For what its worth, I'm running less whp in TT than I was in DE, but better tires, and I'm about 4 seconds a lap faster this season on the same track. Obviously open passing makes it easier, but I really do think the power band with the built motor and BBK-3B has contributed.
