Do you know if the bleeding procedure only has to be vertical to bleed air/fluid and then can it be mounted horizontally?

Correct, once it is bled, you can mount it as you wish. If you have a power bleeder [ The type that hooks to a air compressor ] you can bleed any system in any configuration.

This type also works well.

My setup was blead correctly. I tried it both ways. I had it vertical and also used a power bleeder and still no change. The car was just as bad to drive.

However a buddy of mine gave me some info on pivot points and such which now the car is a lot easier to drive. You have to mod the pedal for this. Its also FREE and worked way better then this setup did.

Removal of the assist spring helps tremendously. I have a Tilton Twin Carbon and since I removed the spring, it is tolerable.

if it was bled correct, great. then you did something else wrong. there 100s who have done this and love it. you were the only one who didnt get the desired results.

so we have a choice. believe evodan this mod does nothing and maybe makes it worse. or believe the other 100 who love it. your choice.

I wouldn't say this is the end all solution for the QM 8 leg (although the only solution). It is grabby by nature and rough as all get out. Nor does this mod make me "love" my clutch. However, one should know that when they bought this clutch it is a race clutch, not anything else. Launching and shifting is golden!

Anyone else have to constantly adjust pedal height with the QM 8 leg?

love the mod not the clutch. for me I was one of the first if not the first to use this mod some ten years ago. was used on a quarter master 7.25 twin. it made a big, noticeable difference on the smoothness of engagement. made the clutch a good bit more tolerable. to the point I would never run a harsh clutch without one of these. I still hated the clutch and sold it two weeks later. I still use the cylinder on the carbon carbon twin that replaced the QM. It helps soften the shock to this delicate transmissions.

Also the mounting plate I will redo so it uses both mounting holes.

Hope you like it. I'll get finished pics up tomorrow.
Let us know how it feels!

Bringing an old thread back from the dead...

I just ordered the QM 8 leg and I understand one of the lines from the HTOB goes to the cylinder the other is a bleeder but the line that comes back off the cylinder where does that go? If someone has pictures where it hooks up that would be great!

I figure out how to make the QM street friendly. Got rid of that pos and got a exedy triple. Imagine being able to actually slip the clutch and it's not an on/off switch unlike the QM. The triple drives like a oem clutch. Let a few buddies drive the car and they thought it had an oem clutch in it lol.

Damn. I've yet to install it but I'll find out soon enough. I picked it up cuz I heard so many good things about it then did more research and found it to be a hit or miss. If I don't like it i guess I know where to look for a new one.

What was the part number of the Exedy Triple you got? Also any long term comments?
