I totally understand your skepticism. Frankly I have doubts about this myself. However, there are several people in these forums who claim 1/4 mile times and speeds that suggest those huge power outputs from completely stock EVOs. My experience is that my EVO in stock form did a 14.3 @ 97 mph and that would be consistent with the 270 fwhp output claimed by

As for the rest of my post, I stand by it. I don't think it's wise to start modifying the car without knowledge of where one is starting. I did it the wrong way first and I'm sure that I would have done things differently and saved myself a ton of money and hassle.

Vishnu all the way baby. Experience, repeatable power, and a margin of safety. My XFlash spanks the alternatives, dyno proven.

I am in the same dilema. I just bought a brand new rally red Evo few weeks ago and have been reading up on this thread. I've called both AL and WORKS and it seems like both are the same flashes but a few differences. WORKS offers the tube that "controls boost". I want a flash that will enable to car to hold boost all the way till redline without hesitation. I know that the WORKS will do that. I DO NOT know if the Dynoflash will do that. Maybe you can clear it up for me. The only way I can get my ECU reflashed is with the mail-in option unless someone here in Florida can offer the service.

Sorry to post because I know you should only post in this thread if you have had experience with either ECU's. Thank you

You can send your ECU to Vishnu, and they will flash it and overnight ship it back to you. I live in TN, and shipping was about $30.

All I know about Works is that from everyone I've talked to, Works is a joke.

I was just at a Dyno Day event where there were about 4 guys upgrading to Vishnu's system from DynoFlash, and they all had substantial gains. Some were in the area of 20 - 25 HP more on the Vishnu. I can't speak for the quality or drivability of DynoFlash or Works because I never had those, but I can attest to the high quality and dyno proven results of Vishnu's product. They are very busy, so they may not answer the phone when you call, just try again later and you'll get through eventually. Email Shiv, or call his shop with questions. They are super nice, and Shiv is the most knowledgeable person I've met so far.

Hi man, I was there too and you are right that the the guys upgrading had those gains, but you must be more accurate in your reporting. Those Dynoflash guys had either mail order dynoflashes or custom tuned dynoflashes for a different car configuration...... Shiv's good and the XEDE/Xflash are good products. But please compare apples to apples, otherwise people might get the wrong impression.... You really cannot compare a custom tuned XEDE/Xflash with a mail order $199 Dynoflash....

I was under the impression that they were getting those kind of gains with the frist couple of runs that he did using the base maps. And that after his custom tune they would pick up another 10 or so over the Vishnu base map. I know that I picked up another 5 - 6 over my base map with my XFlash, but that was over the whole RPM range not so much the top of the curve.

If I was wrong, sorry.

No problem, I can understand how the confusion could arise. It's just better to be as accurate as possible when reporting these things. As I recall, there were no comparisons done of the Dynoflashed cars vs. a mail order Xflashes. Of course, maybe that did happen when I was not there, I was not there all day for 2 days, but all I saw were 2 cars with Dynoflashes getting upgraded to dyno tuned XEDE/Xflash and they gained the power as you reported after Shiv (very competently) tuned the cars.
There were at least 2 other dynoflashed cars that put down around 230 whp with pump gas and one put down 242 whp with race gas. Both of those cars had MBCs, exhaust and the dynoflash. I did not see or hear of any comparable cars with only a mail order Xflash that were tested at that event.
So far I'd say that there are no meaningful comparo's between those 2 systems. Until somebody gets one car and conducts side by side tests of mail order dynoflash vs, mail order xflash, the question will never be resolved.

Dude, don't knock a company if you don't have any experience with them. I have one of their products and it kicks ***. If you really wanna know, it put down pretty much exactly the HP (via dyno the same day) that a Xede did which costs about $300 more.

I've said is many times, but I'll say it again - They are all different products, but ALL have proven results. It depends on your future mod path which one will work the best for you.

Please stop bashing.

the exede is a piggyback is it not? Were talkin about ECU flashes not piggybacks. ie Exede is a piggyback from vishnu and the Xflash is a ECU flash from vishnu.

Don't mis-quote me; I clearly stated that I couldn't personally attest to those other products. Read before you type. I was merely relaying what I have heard from others.

Check the signature. Says "XFlash".

Pretty much everything on here could called hearsay. Because it is people’s opinions, and mostly unqualified people’s opinions. I wouldn’t expect anyone to take what I list as more than my opinion.
