Stocker would do the job just fine.

Smaller turbo or a higher displacement motor will get you faster spool.

Stock turbo, make sure the turn buckle is adjusted so the WG flapper isn't cracked open. Manual BC. Maybe a TME 6.5, I don't have any personal experience with it but there's plenty of info on evom about it.

In what gear do you want full boost by 3k RPM? Even stock turbo is not able to spool so fast in 1st gear. But in 4rth or 5th you can have full boost at 3K even on larger then stock turbo. Peak torque RPM will however depend on other factors of your setup and will be usually about several hundreds RPM later.

HKS GT2, CBRD BBK (lite\full), Owen turbo (stock, stock DBB modification, 68hta), FP71hta, almost anything td05 based - All of them spool as fast as stock or a bit faster.

What really helps a lot is mivec and\or stroker. My wife's daily driver Evo8 has 2.3l stroker motor on stock cams, stock evo9 turbo have full boost (25psi) at 2750-3000rpm in 3rd gear or even sooner in 4th.

You have to consider what max power you want to achieve and then choose the fastest spooling turbo for your application that is capable of that kind of HP.

Do you mean that you have full boost (say 25psi or more) at 3K RPM in 3rd gear on the road? Can you post a log or a dyno run?

Old school green is pretty laggy without mivec comparing to stock turbo and usualy spools considerably slower. I would say it would usually barely hit 10-12 psi at 3K in 3rd gear. Full boost at 3.8-4K, and peak torque 4k or later.

search some dyno threads:

he's asking full boost by 3000rpm. not spool, unless yours does. can u post a log/ graph?

high displacement and stock turbo "should" get u what your looking for.

I would say the only way to get full boost really at 3K in 3rd gear is a 2.3 on stock9\hks7460 turbo.
