Arashi Turbo thread

Figured I would ask who were running Arashi turbos on here, and the good or bad luck they have brought them? Saw the Kinugawa thread and was Interested...

I am interested in buying an Arashi ER antisurge, it shud give significantly more power gains over stock than the 20G. its very similar to the FP red compressor wheel just 1mm difference ER:74.9mm and Red: 76mm

At that pricepoint, there is no way that is a MHI hotside. Which means it's more than likely a Chinese made piece, which means it's gonna fail at some point...and more quickly than an MHI hotside. I bet if you put a magnet to that hotside, it sticks.

But hey, it's a $700 turbo. What could go wrong?

while I dont doubt they use cheap hotsides I have to say that magnets stick to mhi housings too.. they are not stainless..

Damn, I was thinking about the Evo X housing. Oops. Still, that hotside won't last.

That's why I cryotreated my new MHI housing to try as an experiment...will cryotreating improve the longevity and prolong the life of the divider wall inside the turbo?

It was $42 well spent

worst case is no effect, so can't hurt to try.

How did that cryotreating work out long term?
