Using factory fuel feed for return

I have been waiting on a fuel system that has been on back order for months! (they will remain nameless...this thread is about other issues) and have decided that I need to come up with another fuel solution.

In the meantime, I will be installing a Buschur double pumper utilizing -6 from each pump joining to -8 to the rail. I also am using a fuelab pressure regulator and fic rail with 2150 inj.

My question is can I use the factory feed as a return without disturbing the siphon effect? I am not familiar how the siphon system works on Evo's so I'm asking for some help with this. Am I going to have any other fueling issues if I change my fuel line diameter? I have seen this done plenty of times but I am not sure if I have to alter anything else in order to use these diameter lines.

btw this is for a 2.2 built block and head setup with a 6466 in kill mode on both e85 and 93.

What about any issues with fuel getting stuck on one side of the tank?

How are you connecting it to the fuel pump assembly?

The issue with fuel being stuck on one side is when you start modifying the siphon tube. You could run a -10 line and not have any problem.

I honestly have not thought about it as of yet. I was just concerned with increasing the diameter of the line. Do you have any suggestions for how I can connect a larger return line?

i'll just clarify that the siphon has nothing to do with the return line.

The siphon effect is created by a white plastic 'T' tube that is located in the fuel pump assembly. It is plainly visible when the pump assembly is lifted from the tank. Fuel from the return line flows through the straight part of the 'T', which creates a suction effect on the 90 degree tube. That suction draws fuel from the right side of the fuel tank into the left. So long as you connect your return line to the same fitting on the pump assembly housing, you have nothing to worry about.

I have been thinking about this also. I ran a -6 an line to my rail fromt the stock pump feed fitting and want to use the stock 5/16 line that im not using anymore for my return. so i would go -6 return from the regulator to the 5/16th hard line.

Not sure how to connect it on the hanger side yet where it necks down to 1/4 for the stock return fitting on the top of the hanger to make it worth it.

Any ideas?
