1.0xt is the same as a CBRD BBK Full. The 1.0xtr is the ball bearing version. The Blouch will make more power than the 71hta as it has bigger turbine wheel. I'm a huge advocate for rhe 71hta. It's a killer price for the power you get. Just know the 1.0xtr is about three times as much as a 71hta.

Look back in the thread and you'll see my original dyno. We has some hesitation/stumbling issues that Ive sorted out now and I also worked on holding boost a bit more up top. Would guess I'm hitting around 475 now.

If you can afford it, get the 1.0xtr. If you are on a budget, the 71hta its a great turbo for the money.

I agree, trying to compare other turbos to the 71hta purely in a value-per-dollar sense will never pan out! No turbo is 3x better than a 71hta

But the 1.0xtr will certainly be better in more than one way.

any dyno results of the 2.0 xtr? I'm looking for something that will make around 450 on pump and 500 on E85 at around 26-28psi with S1 cams on a stock block.

The BBK-B is essentially the same turbo. Plenty of dyno charts on that.

I recently purchased this turbo since i'm currently stationed in the UK. after dealing with Ross and some VAT exemption programs I was able to get this turbo for the price of a new FP turbo.

I plan on installing by next weekend

Hey guys, Tim here - thought I'd chime in and give a personal update. I'm running a 1.0 XT on a stock 2 liter with all the boltons and S2 cams as well as 93 octane fuel.

No boost leaks, fairly fresh oil (topped off), and it's a street car that has never seen a road course or drag strip. I've also seen zero obstructions in the factory oil feed line and drain tube.

I had the turbo installed, pressure tested and tuned by CBRD approximately 3 months ago and the turbo has begun the early stages of failing within about 2 thousand miles of street use.

I pulled the intake 3 days ago to do a routine boost leak test (tested negative) and discovered a noticeable amount of axial play already.

I think I am fortunate enough to have caught this early because the car wasn't using any oil (discharging smoke from the rear end), making any strange noises from the turbine area and it was running GREAT.

I pulled the turbo last Friday and will be dropping it off personally at Blouch next Monday or Tuesday for them to tear down and give me a verdict. I'm well within warranty and hope things go smoothly. I love the turbo and can't imagine a better option for a stock 2 liter street car running pump fuel.

I peaking around 27.5 psi and holding 27 out the top (7,500 rpm). I've got a Turbosmart 18 psi WGA preloaded to about 19 psi base pressure. I'm also at 65% wgdc out the top of 3rd gear.

I should have just gotten the BB version from the get-go. I'm thinking since the turbo looks salvageable (no compressor or turbine wheel damage and no scoring of either housing) that I may just get the thing rebuilt and upgraded to a BB center section and be done with it. I'll keep ya'll updated after I drop it off and receive an update from Blouch. I want to see how they mitigate this issue first.

Too bad to hear. My BBK Full was run full out by me and the previous owner, and it was still perfect when I sold it. I think Blouch will provide a vague answer as to why it died. Would be great if the these early deaths could be clearly understood.

That's one of the reasons I purchased this turbo! I've read great stories of durability and longevity with the BBK JB variants. The currents models have oem chra assemblies and I am using oem oiling components/oil sources. Perhaps expecting 27 psi up top is too much? Although I have seen too much evidence of other oem mhi rotating assemblies to suggest otherwise!

Do they recommend feeding the oil from the head for the journal bearing options?

I ran mine at 32 psi tapering to 27 psi. I run my BBK-3B at 38 psi tapering to 31 psi.

The original BBK full jb models never required any alternate oil feeds and there has been no mention of the new jb Blouch models needing special oil feeds. I was told by Blouch they use 100% factory oem MHI rotating assemblies.

I've been using Rotella T6 with oem oil filters as well, mainly because of higher zddp and phosphorus levels as well as a strong additive/detergent pack. I've had zero issues with the stock 9.8 turbo and the Evo IX turbo that was on the car for a year prior to installing the Blouch.
