A blouch 2.0...lol
I think your bad experience is isolated, and possibly not Blouch's fault. Bearing failure is indicative of overspeed or poor lubrication. Improper assembly (oil clearances, imbalance, etc) would lead to a failure much more quickly then what you experienced.

The BBK Full is barely a 500 whp turbo. It takes a kill mode tune on E85 to hit it, although it might not be quite so hard on a 2.3L. Its a lot happier sitting at 480 whp.
In reality, 500hp is just a number to strain for on a BBK Full/1.0xtr. Mid range will be the same but you'll be fighting the fall off up top to achieve that number. Fighting fall off leads to over spinning and reduced turbo life.
The FP Red, 2.0 XTR, or maybe bw7163 is going to be a better solution if 500hp is a realistic goal.

FWIW i'd have faith in a properly-sized Blouch turbo. i have no reason to doubt they are the same as the old BBKs.
an MHI FP Red is going to be ridiculously hard to find.
they are the only option i see for those of us living in CA.

Are you refering to the FP Reds with the 64mm comressor cover?

I tuned a very similar setup to yours with BBK full, stock throttle, FullRace manifold.
Went ~500whp at 24psi.
No more power obtained with more boost.
Neither do I. Though I'm using a BB version, my 1.0xtr has been great.
