Ernest, if my HKS works, we can work out something with that 10.2 housing. the only thing is i think it has a crack. that wasn't going to matter for me building the 71HTA, but i'm 99.9% sure FP won't want to mess with it.

Doesn't a little turbo have to work extra hard to try to hold boost on a stroker motor? Boost really isn't what one can use to determine if you are overspinning the snail. I would prefer to look at airflow and by the numbers it looks like he may have been making that gerbil run its **** off to produce those torque numbers. My guess is a bigger turbo would have been a much better choice for an output demand like that.

Talking with Aaron at ER, when we did our fist pull and duty cycle was flat he said where tq starts dipping is where we're really running out of turbo. Be it too much backpressure, not large enough compressor, or a combo. Mine really fell off around 5500rpms with the 1.0XTR. I don't want boost spikes and just wanted to hold 25-26psi as long as possible so we ramped up duty cycle on the top end. I think I'm around 65% and ramp to 90% from 5500rpm to 7500rpm.

Yeah, that's about where I was at the with BBK Full. Actually, I think its standard procedure for turbos that hit the peak efficiency in the compressor map early.

So what happened to your 7460?

The gate flapper shaft on mine creep'd (surprise!) so I have it all disassembled while I try to figure out a way to repair it. HKS USA was all surprised about the failure mode and said they'd have to get in touch with Japan to see how to proceed. FP didn't want to machine my spare 10.5 housing for it which I thought was a bummer. Now I'm stuck trying to pull the shaft bearing out to re-weld the assembly. PITFA.

It seems to seal fine. I see no light through it while closed. It's jet hot coated, so that may help.
My car made very little power before. I thought it was the turbo, but it was reaching 25-27psi, so that shouldn't be the issue. I was gonna swap on the one I have for sale, but decided to do an OEM rebuild on the engine.
For future reference, can you let me know if you find a fix? Just in case....

just got done reading this whole threat. My tuner was telling me about blouch turbos and how great they are. Now, my question is. Should i go with bloush 2.0 or should i go with my old option FP green or red? My goal is around 450-500. I know FP is been around for years and all i hear is good reviews about them.

Blouch has a good reputation, don't let one bad result convince you otherwise. FP also makes fine turbos. Personally, I am a fan of twin scroll, so I would only go FP with a MHI housing. I think FP still has a few but they are big $. Alternatively, if you get a good condition MHI hotside you can have FP convert it into their green/red/black.

chad if you reading this will a bbk full handle my setup without any over spin? last setup with e85 is 500hp.

I am in the market for a new turbo fp red or anything that can handle my setup. I am done with blouch turbo's it left a bad taste in mouth if you know what I mean.

BBK Full will do 500whp with cams and E85. Local guy here in AZ did it with S2's and around 30psi of boost on the stock block

where are you going to find a new bbk full? if you don't have problem using bbk, then why not blouch, they made the bbk turbos.
