Finally go to listen to the video. That sounds terrible. Are you sure thrust was correct on the "new" motor.

That was my first concern, especially taking into consideration that the dust cover doesn't fit. Yes, I checked all bearings twice. I'm going to be dropping the pan to triple check, though. I gotta figure this out.

If it was the thrust bearing, and everything was moving towards the front of the engine, then I suppose that could cause some issues with everything setting right in the transmission? That's for the noise is coming from.

i found a vid on youtube that is very similar and it turned out to be an issue with his clutch.

if that were they case, why would it do it only in neutral and only when i let the clutch out normally? and why would it not make the noise when i let the clutch out slow?

i have the engine hoist at my house. if i'm gonna pull the trans.. now is the time to do it.

most likely the starter plate. could be bent and rubbing on the flywheel. when you step on clutch the fly is pulled toward the trans and away from plate.

Maybe, but it's not a thin, metallic sound. It's something solid and heavy and seems to be coming from the transmission case.
I could be wrong.

its coming from inside bell housing. it is no doubt clutch, fly, or throw out bearing related. something is not installed correctly.

Everything is new and I installed it the same as all my others.

Someone told me they had a faulty TOB and it sounded kinda like this. That would suck.
