I’ve linked this thread to Chad. He should be in here soon with some pan options for you gentleman.
Sorry if I’m stepping on your toes @kaj . Just want to give the community the chance for some pans, and Chad is willing to do them.

They are all more than competent. They build cars and fulfill military contracts that are for more involved than our oil pans
If he is unwilling then I will ask if he is willing to part with his CAD files, yes.

Looks like my auto darkening Lincoln cartridge would drop right in there (have to measure it).

I've been thinking of getting one anyway, as sometimes I have to weld on partially painted,
coated with road grime on the backside (old frames), or zinc coated stuff. The originals were brazed, correct?

Would the guy make the pieces at least? If I could get the parts, I'd either Mig it myself, or have my buddy Tig it together.....
He says he's going to test a charcoal mask of some sort. He says it should fit under the shroud. Yes, the OEM paint is killer, he says LOL. I can ask about the pieces when I ask about the CAD files.

The more I look at your original pics, the more I think I could make my own
from scratch with some minimal external dimensions.
The only part I would not want to fab is the trap doors themselves.
It also appears there was some extra baffling along the passenger side end?
Nothing is spring loaded, only hinged. Other than the trap door setup and larger sump, everything else is OEM, as far as I can remember. If you do your own, you know you have four or five others that will jump on board!

I spoke with Chad on FB in early December, and he had some personal business that was taking up his time, so our conversation didn't go any further. If he now actually has time to make pans, that would be great. For the moment, I'm sticking with kaj's guy until we find out whether they are willing to make the pans, and after that, whether I can get some information about Chad's pan design.

As long as they get done, one way or another, I say .
I have no personal stake in it. If Chad does them, that makes things 1000% easier for me.
I'll keep working from my end, too.

OK , thanks

Yeah, I guess being spring loaded it wouldn't work at all, haha...

And I don't even want to do one, LOL!!! I will if I have too, especially since I just bought the new pan.
(got here yesterday). For myself, if I did it and ended up with a small leak or a slightly crappy looking weld in one spot,
and had to pull pan and redo, I wouldn't care. I doubt the rest of the guys would be happy with that.
Hard to do sheet metal like this without warping it some, I suspect that is why they brazed it.

I wouldn't blast the inside of that pan, I'd be leary of the nooks and crannies never getting fully cleaned out.

Chad McCurdy is on Facebook. He makes Evo pans too..

Blasting it is no worse than cutting the bottom of the sump off (making all the small metal shavings) for stuff getting caught somewhere. Regardless, it's not an issue with thorough cleaning.

With no volunteers to step forward, Matt has decided to do the pans himself LOL.

can someone please PM me a list of participants? I need:
First and last name
Screen name if a member here.
contact email address
shipping address.

I'll email everyone the finalized price (so everyone has it in writing), paypal / shipping addresses, and minimum dimensions of the box needed for shipping.

I think that's about it. Assuming everyone sends the pans in suitable-sized shipping boxes, I still won't be asking for anything for myself, to keep pricing down.
