I think you should have kept these problems to yourself because it's obvious you are beating the hell out of your evo. I am not judging you so if you want to launch like a mad-man then by all means go ahead. But please don't come on here flaming, just take responsibility for your actions.

Naw...he is still a good friend. It was my fault for allowing him to drive the car in the first place. The old saying...you gotta pay to play. Actually I got lucky because Freehold Mitsubishi warrantied the TC but not the clutch.

agreed. either you don't know how to properly drive your car, or you just beat the **** out of it, i have 23k on my car and stil on stock clutch and that includes a track day and many launches... There are things you can do though to improve it, like clutch and what have you.

as for your statement about how modding cars is for kids, i just think thats a poor generalization, there are plenty of evo owners on here who are over 25 years of age, and mod their car....

also if this is your 4th time replacing your clutch and **** and tranny or what have you, if you hate it so bad why not just get rid of it after the 2nd time??

That's cuz mitsu secretly fixes things and lies about it, don't you watch the news?

MMC has been rocked recently by revelations it systematically concealed product defects from government regulators for about two decades, avoiding costly recalls. This has allegedly led to several deaths in Japan. A former head of the company has been arrested and both his home and MMC offices raided by police looking for evidence.

No, that was in Japan, and most of the complaints on here are about Mitsu not fixing things. Truth be known there are close to 6,000 Evo's in the US and the ratio of problems is small, you are only hearing about the bad cases.

Plus you have guys like the one starting this thread that just don't know what the Evo was built around and can't drive.

My RS is going strong w/ 10k miles and NO problems!!!

This is my third Mitsu car and I've had NO problems with any of them:

- 99 Eclipse GST spyder w/ plenty of mods: great touring convertible and no prob until local shop F* the clutch after a install

- 03 Lancer sportback: great econo box for cheap!

- 04 Evo RS: great track car at $24.5k NEW!

Damn I only bought Mitsu for last 6 years and a pos Corolla that I traded for Mitsu. I've done all I could to keep Mitsu afloat...

These cars are nothing but problems from the door and thats why mitsu is going out of business.
How much for the Helix exhaust if parting out car?

BTW, I too say it is the driver and not the clutch. Have any pics of your old clutch(es) & PPs?

This reminds me of my golfing buddies. They always say that they only took a couple mulligans, but when you really add them up you will be very suprised

My ol man said he took 4 mulligans, playing indoor simulator. well it keeps track and he used up a whopping 19... but of course those don't count. lol...

but, i do feel for you. that would suck to keep breaking down.
