If you would like the best of both worlds (auto and manual), then you might want to take a look at this sweet mod from 5Zigen:

even with my OK Japanese, it's very confusing to understand how that twin-mode works. Does the button on top of the shift knob work as the clutch? Or is it a switch to turn the system on? Can someone explain?
