Basically in CA if you have the wrong type of car (IE Evo) they have the right to pull you over and shake you down. Good thing they never released the Evo 6 TME in the states, every cop would have probable cause to pull it over (stickers all over it...not that the cop would care who Tommi Makkinen is or why the car is a special edition...) I bet they don't pull over the new dodge chargers. You know, the yellow ones with big "hemi" stickers on them. Those guys are just as apt to street race as anyone else.

Well, you should have given him a ticket. Pink turn-signals? That's just wrong!

So let me get this straight, the sound of the exhaust is up to the cop's judgement? What the hell kind of policy is that? I thought it was based on dB. What if you have a stock exhaust that a cop thinks is too loud? Over at the NASIOC board there's people talking about getting tickets because the cops think the stock hood scoop is illegal. I would love to get pulled over for a stock part just so I could go to court prove the part is stock and DOT approved so the cop looks like a dumbass in front of the judge and everyone else in court.

It's one thing to catch a person in the act, it's another to simply pull them over for owning an import. It's like a cop saying, "I see you own a gun, which can be used for the purpose of robbing a bank." Owning a gun doesn't automatically make you a criminal, just like owning an import with a couple performance mods doesn't automatically make you a street racer. So as I said, if you're street racing and a cop catches you, you just gave him all the reason to pull you over and inspect your vehicle. But if you're simply driving around then it's not right.

I recall an Access Unlimited article by a CA cop in which he says there's a guy on their force that drives a modified Tiburon and tries to get people to race him. Somehow them taunting you to break the law is not entrapment.

I find the cop/quota thing funny. Every cop I've talked to, worked with, all deny having a quota. They can write as few as or as many tickets as they want. But the myth continues because it's always the last couple days of the month when all the cops are out there.

And what makes absolutely no sense is import shops. While in San Diego I went to Pann Auto Performance for parts and installation. A shop can sell you and install something and it's legal, but having it is illegal? That's like saying, a drug dealer can sell you crack but using it is illegal.

Whoa...slow down. It might make more sense to go and look up the MO motor vehicle code than ask questions that are going to put you on some list.

Nah, I'm a volunteer Firefighter, most of the cops are cool with me and they know I mod my car. They'll tell me if this is **** or not.

Ya, honestly. I would rather be brutally castrated than live in Cali. No offense to anyone that does live there.

Loud pipes? LOL

Heck, if they really wanted to quiet things down and make money they'd go after every open pipe HARLEY guy out there.

Cops don't ride around in Evo's and Civics.

However, they do ride Harleys.

Was it just me or did that guy say street racing in the gayest way I have ever heard it??? I wanted to punch him in the face after watching that Vid. No wonder some many people in Cali run from the police!

That kind of stuff makes me really hope that Cali will fall into the Ocean, but wait then they will need to move further east screw that, I hope that Cali stays just the way that it is. As long as there laws are for them and not us...

I don't know how you Cali boys live with that 91 **** water and gay a$$ cops I would lose it.

Wow,

For the most part, you guys are all being tards. Seriously. You guys are spewing **** like "benefit of the doubt" "innocent until proven guilty", and stuff like that! In case you didn't notice, the cop wrote him carb ref ticket. He sent the guy to a carb station to make sure his **** was legal.

Thats all the cop did, refer to him a carb.

Secondly, all you fools saying stuff like "the only thing he did wrong was no front plate" According to california VC code, your wrong. The exhaust is illegal, the stickers were illegal, the intake WAS illegal unless it has been carb approved.

What don't you people get? Right or wrong, the **** was illegal! Its a cops job to enforce the law, don't like the law, quit your *****ing, vote. Pull the people out of office who enact these laws.

Its not a cops job to interpret the law, determine whether its right or wrong. Its the cops job to ENFORCE the law. And thats exactly what they are doing.

Shut up, and vote.
