warranty specs on 03 evo???

The dealer is closed or I would just ask. I cant remember the miles the drive train portion expires at. I think it is 35,000. I know the clutch is only 12,000. Number 2 synchro is just rough. I would attribute this to the fact that im the second owner. I doubt this gets resolved with any stealership help but you never know..so far they have been cool.

Do your syncros grind. Gear shifting always rough on these trannies until it is touched by shep, tre, or turbotrix

Aftermarket Intercooler and Warranty?

Has anybody ever asked the question whether installing an aftermarket intercooler voids our warranty (even just part of it)? I'm trying to decide on putting on an aftermarket I/C (original damaged in accident, car at body shop) and wanted to see what everyone else may have found out. If I do put one on, I'm looking at the Nisei, AMS, and Buschur I/C's. I'm looking for actual instances where Mitsu has given an answer, not conjecture, but educated guesses are welcome also.

knowing Mitsu Service dept. anything aftermarket thats installed on your car will void your warranty. I went to Mitsu dep. to replace the hose, from the recall of 05, and first question out of his mouth was, "was the car modified"...

Stay away from that dealer. I have no problems with my dealer covering me under warranty, they are pretty mod friendly as long as you don't touch the turbo.

Yeah, I know Mitsu isn't always the greatest on their warranty claims. I've had an EVO for 3 years, so I had an idea. I just wanted to know if anyone had any firsthand experience with an aftermarket intercooler warranty issue/nonissue. Thanks for the inputs, though.

heres the thing though. they have to be smart enough to catch the mods. i had my tranny warrantied even with all of my mods (intake, exhuast, aftermarket wastegate/boost controller, cams, etc). they didnt say a thing about warranty, but when i picked up my car, the service guy recommended i did a tune up on the car. i snickered to myself, after all, its VERY evident that there are cams in teh car. the lope shakes the walls! if they dont notice it, they cant nail you for it

I doubt very highly the service dept. didn't know your car was modded. These guys work on these cars all day long so don't assume you pulled a fast one on them. They just chose to look the other way. Now that's the kind of dealer you want.

there is a huge differnce between working on cars, and working on modded cars. besides, it wasnt the mechanic, he knew better (talked to him more than once), instead it was the service writter and the manager for that matter. i know the manager, because he tried more than once to nail me on modded crap. first up was my big brake kit, and how that caused the tranny to fail. so i know that if he realised there were cams in it, i would have been out $3500. you have all dealt with the service department, many of them cant tell the differnce between a carb or a tbi setup.

trust me, that is not the dealer you want to take your car too, you dont even want me to go into how long it took them to r&r a tranny, and the other damages that happened in the process. far from professional, or competant.
