MBC is easy enough to hide and remove, and that can yield some decent gains. Just remember that with these cars, most small mods that you do will still end up needing a tune. Which involves more of the warrantee being voided. Good luck... I say take a road driving class and learn the car first. There's more to this car than going fast in a straight line.
Thanks!, Straigh line performance, handling, tubo, wanted to know any you guys recomended. I will proably leave mine mostly stock and the reason for this post was just to find out the simple, unquestionable mods. Some of us, me especially, want to keep the factory warranty. But I sure to like to know what the evo can do if I ever decide to do a few things. Hopefully this will help others thinking of simple mods as well. Thanks, keep it coming

Some exhausts dont use 1 or 2 mounting brackets while some have you swap the #1 and #2 rubber mounts (HKS Carbon Ti) and add two metal mounting points to the car in order to install the exhaust.

However, non should cause any warranty issues.

I know you're new and enthusiastic, but the problem is this is just repeating what we've said many times before, so it's not terribly helpful. I've been providing my own blueprint to everyone for going as fast as possible while maintaining the factory warranty. I went as fast as 12.22 while still on the cat-back and without a flash, but then I gave in after a year and got the full TBE along with a flash to help me for several reasons (low-end/mid-range torque and higher rev limiter for 4th gear at the track).

I suppose I'll join you in "flaming" myself. I actually search most of the things I need to know, and the wealth of information on this board is outstanding, so long as you do some sideline research on what is said. I can't imagine how many times some of you have answered the same questions over and over and over. Heck, I've been reading the post for two month and already see the repeats. With that said, most of the threads are specific, exhaust, flashes, suspension, and most don't specifically take into account warranty concerns specifically. I mostly post funny or "pointless" threads, but thought this may be helpful targeting the thread at very light mods and warranty concerns. I get a kick out of some of the direct and honest comments and points some of you make, and then get called rude or blah blah. You modders have so much to provide from your first hand experince and research. So, I agree, and thanks for the the additional info you provided, oh and I want call you poopy pants for your comment.

doesn't honor some stock evos' warranties so if you want to keep yours, i'd listen to warr and only have a cat-back and panel filter when you hit the dealer. if you're that worried about the warranty, then don't mod!

The ECUs are specific for each car.... I don't think you can swap them from car to car. I don't know if you can buy a new one that will work with your car either..... The only modification that I would suggest which will do some good and wont mess with your warranty is the JDM spec aluminum blow off valve. Also, If you get an XEDE installed, it will work great and if you nedd to, you can put it back to stock very easily and there will be no traces of modification......

I read on another thread that you can do the ECU flash on 05s but you have to have a piggyback system. Does anybody know where to find more info on them? I am also interested in moding without voiding my warranty.

Currently I have an AMS CBE, and AEM Intake

Huh? That doesn't make sense. A flash and a piggyback system? Those are 2 separate tuning devices. I think you just didn't understand what you were reading. Read this whole thread, especially what I wrote, and you'll get the idea.

Yes they are 2 different tuning devices but they can be used in a collaborative nature: u can get your limiter raised, fuel cut eliminated, injectors scaled through the ECU flash, and use the piggyback to handle the rest. There are other creative methods out there.

Yes, I know. I already do this myself with a flash + S-AFC, but that wasn't the point. He was saying that you he "heard" you could do this as a method to keep the warranty. Context is key.

Notice he also said "you can do the ECU flash on 05s, but you HAVE to have a piggyback system." That makes no sense. Why would you HAVE to have a piggyback along with a flash on an 05?

I looked at the old thread that I was talking about, and you are right. I was just blowing smoke up my ***. Sorry to mislead anybody. I don't know much about moding and trying to learn whats best also.
