Did they mention anything on the service invoice when you signed out for the car? Libertyville Mitsu in IL wrote that I had an aftermarket boost gauge and drop in filter, and they are even rumored to be mod friendly. I would just ask from that dealership to print out the service history of your car to make sure. If it isn't, how else can they prove that it had it on there?

Transfer Case Problem.

If warrenty doesnt cover, I have a transfer case, thats forged from TRE. My car was totalled with 15K miles on it. Sometimes these cars are so mass produced, it's not uncommon to have a core shift, knocking off the alignment of the parts, causing extra wear, breakage, noise, etc. Thats what the rep is going to check for, along with miles and mods. Mitsu does not like mods! So, the closer to stock, the better. Ask your self this, is it worth putting the parts back to stock for $1000? Thats what a TC is going for.

I dont think they would lie to the factory rep if I put it back to stock

If youre getting a whinning noise most likely the dealer put the wrong fluid in it, which will cause the tc to fail and start whining and howling. Most of the time the diff breaks with wheel hop or high rpm clutch drops. I mean 3 tc's? There something weird going on here. I have 27k on my car with the mods and my sig and have raced the car tons of times and im still on my first one. You should have sent it to TRE and have it fixed cheap and he could have also told you the reason for failure, you should pm him, his screename is GEARS. Good luck on the 3rd tc

Had my warranty denied too!

After I had my first free service visit, I noticed the tires now on the rear (the ones from the front) had no tread left on the inside section. Since I had 3,000 miles on it at the first visit, the now-front tires started to wear the same way, I called to get a service visit to have the alignment checked. Now, my car is completely stock and has never been to the track, so I didn't expect too many problems. Well, the dealer said they fixed the alignment, but that the warranty doesn't cover tires. When I asked to talk this with someone higher up, they told me all I could do was file arbitration... so I did. After several letters back and forth, my claim was still denied. I was even more shocked to see that the dealership claims I put "aftermarket BBS wheels on my car." (!) [For those of you keeping score at home, I have an MR... They come with BBS wheels.] So, for evidence, I sent them a copy of my window sticker which states the vehicle comes equipped with BBS wheels.

Here's a copy of the letter that said this:

Yeah, I'm a bit pissed, but I just find this kind of funny at this point. It's a shame my vehicle has been modified with aftermarket factory-included items.

Just to mention the obvious: I only use this dealership for the free scheduled maintenance because this is where I purchased my Evo as it is the nearest dealer to me by far.

I certainly wouldn't PAY these guys to insult me. I take my cars somewhere else when I need real work done.

And since I've already gone through arbitration (and the dealer adjusted the alignment solving the initial cause), my case for the tires is done, unless I want to take legal action.

Wow, your dealer suck. You should report this case to Mitsubishi and tell them they need to be more educated towards their product.

I haven't took my car in for the free service because they do not put syntheic motor oil for the change. I'd bet that dealer already voided your warrentee from not putting mobil1 synthetic

Aww man, you just have to depress me even more!! The paperwork they gave me specifically stated that they use Mobil 1 and I even quizzed the service manager before they started. Now I'm starting to wonder... Thanks alot!
