Man I wish I can get my evo to weigh 3k or under. This car is heavy! It costs so much money to do it right

I am going to remove any unverified data, until it is verified. It's not a matter of questioning someone's post, but rather making sure that the information is correct. Afterall, some readers will be using this info to make decisions on the next mods for their cars. Hope everyone understands.

Before or after a burrito lunch? I'm waiting on more parts to come in. Still sitting at 2713 lbs. Next diet as soon as the 'race' set of wheels and tires come in.
All of these parts and changes are NOT necessarily mine. I'm posting everyones changes, to create a list for those interested in the same changes.

At 2713 lbs, your car must be ridiculous on the track. Hope you enjoy it!

i got around to removing my intercooler sprayer and weighed it.

with 1/2-3/4 full of water, it weighed 8.xx pounds. the accuracy of the weigh was based off a digital bathroom scale that wouldn't register the tank by itself. therefor i had to weigh myself, then weigh myself holding the tank to get the weight of the tank. because this process is stupid, and the accuracy of the bathroom scale is questionable at best, i went ahead and ordered myself a digital 50lb max postage scale off ebay for 25 dollars shipped it is sopposedly accurate to .1oz which is more then enough for the stuff we are looking at. once i get it i will tear my car apart to get some weights some weekend.

i've installed, my JIC's, ohlins, teins, KW's, and just springs on other evos, and quite honestly the coilovers save very little to no weight over the stock struts(teins being by far the lightest, but also the cheapest, and worst performing). i wouldn't be surprised if it is less then 10 pounds total for all 4 shocks.

the JIC;s are not on my car right now as i have them off to be rebuilt. i'll throw them on the scale when i get it, and i'll throw some stock struts on the scale as well.

According to Buschur

http://www.buschurracing.com/weight-reduction.htm

Stock is 64.6
I have heard JIC's weigh under 50. That is considerable.

But the performance numbers (Slalems/Around turns) are due to the areas of weight savings themselves.
One of the reasons I decided to go with the MR is the aluminum roof panel which only comes on the RS and MR models (dont know about evo VIII I am speaking specifically about the IX)... cant get that on the GSR because some of them have the SSL package!

FYI you can find mini batteries out there for around $100 if you actually do some research before forking out $150-250 from some of the vendors out there
20 lbs for $100= $5/LB

Nobody has a carbon fiber prop shaft to add to the mix! That is rotational savings you would be able to feel.
