ditching the Evo for an STi
Biggest trade off for me would be the drivability. More tq when leaving lights. Not having to slip and rev so high with the ac on. I'm getting tired of the tq-less 4 cylinder cars altogether. : \
Cruise control and a much nicer interior are also a plus, but as already mentioned I perfer evo seats over sti seats.

to me the 06 sti is but ugly. first reason one I bought an evo and didn't even look further into it. And the last 2 times I went to the track (road racing track), I ran circles around 2 modded stis!!
I guess those guy thought they could drive, but obviously couln't but it was a great feelings!!

The issue's have not been fully listed? I would ask the question is this your first manual car? the clutch getting replaced at 10k is a big red flag to me. I hated my car after I got it I took 5,000 miles before I started to get on it never had an issue besides the stupid tranny (Hard to get in gears some times slight grined on occasion.) Then I see Young kids i know 18 years old buying new SE's with mommy and daddys money and in the first 200 miles racing the damn thing. This may or may not have been what you have done. I am just saying that your issues could be resolved and you would be loving the car even with the payments
.
I'm getting ready to trade my wifes GLI in on a new Land Rover LR2 SE and help me I'm glad I do still owe a good chunck on my Evo because last night I was in an Audi RS4 and loved it. It just might be my next car
What ever you deside man just think it about it. I had an 04' sti and have spent way more on it just because of the issues it had on the drive train. But thus far on the Evo it has been pretty much flawless.

BMW 335i would be the next car for me. I can see the point of getting an STI over the Evo. Sti has a lot finer looking interior than the Evo (Evo has better fitting and looking seats). But I just hate the way it drive and the power delivery of the STI. My cousin have an 07 Sti and get smoke by a bone stock AT Lexus IS 350. So that may be something to ponder.

I'm not ditching the evo at all but for whatever reason, I don't like to drive or own lesser cars anymore hence, I'll probably wait for the IS-F, if it is okay. or else I'll go full tilt and get the carrera 4S or Cayenne S(I just drove them over the weekend)
