thats terrible bro. sorry to hear about it. maybe it wont be a total loss. just hope for the best. maybe they might strip common items not knowing its built. im sure you or someone else has stock replacements for temporary use. but overall, alarm system. ill tell you this though, im getting one next paycheck now.

home owners insurance is not gonna cover this. they dont even cover cars getting stolen out of garages, let alone cars just parked outside on the street

Well worth it for the peace of mind knowing if they ever got damaged or stolen, the would be replaced. If they aren't covered, the insurance company doesn't owe you anything for aftermarket parts.
Very useful information, thank you.

I don't know why everyone is pointing out that you should have had an alarm. The fact is, they had the means to get around the factory anti-theft system, I'm sure they could have cut the power to an alarm just as easily.

LoJack is pretty sweet, but a cop has to be driving by where the vehicle is to find it.

The best Idea that I've ever heard was people with highly modified cars wiring in an old cell phone under the dash that had power from the battery, but could still hold a charge on its own. That trumps GPS because it will work out of line of sight and without power, but it isn't quite as accurate.

In the end, if someone is really determined to steal something from you they will get it. It sucks but thats life. Scum will get theirs sooner or later.

There are also services that you can buy that will track your car for other purposes, but having that you could have logged on the internet and at least tracked it for a few minutes to try to help the cops out.

I'm surprised though, usually its just cut the power and put it on a tow truck and away she goes, off to the chop shop. I'm hoping you get her back, but I don't have super high hopes for the parts.

Best of luck man.

Damn dude. I hope you get your stuff back. Be sure to keep your eye in the 'for sale' section for any parts.

That is only in NC I believe, because in FL it's as long as you can prove what you had done, ie pictures, receipts.

don't evo's have a immobilizer from the factory, how did they start the car?
I thought the car won't start with out the key sending a signal to the engine?
