My Evo got jacked!
Take this advice from a guy that's had his car stolen twice. (It was a Honda) The best thing you can do is to delay the damn thieves.
-alarm
-club
-brake pedal lock
-fuel cut
and my brother's favorite, disconnecting a crucial sensor in the engine such as the coil, crank sensor, cam sensor, whatever
but, if they really, really want it, they're going to just tow it. Happens in Cali all the time.

Man, that sucks.
Sorry for your loss bro.
I have the DEI/Viper 791vx 2way alarm and it has an addon GPS locator that you can get, but it's pricey.
I was looking into this thing called GPS Snitch.
Not sure if it's any good or not but it looks and sounds very good.
Basically a GPS Tracker that you can put anywhere and it runs off batteries for 7 days.
Link. GPS SNITCH
The GPS Snitch is completely self-contained. Just turn it on, arm it and hide it in your vehicle. Lasts up to 7 days on internal battery, or use the hardwire kit.
Low Monthly plans
It's all you'll need to pay to have the ultimate in GPS-based security.
Motion Sensitive
Once armed, the GPS Snitch monitors your vehicle for the slightest movement.
Instant Notification
Receive notification via email, or text message to your mobile phone when the GPS Snitch detects motion or leaves a security perimeter.
Real-time Location Tracking
Log-in to www.gps-snitch.com from a computer or your web-enabled cellular phone and locate your vehicle in real-time, at the click of a button.
A New Kind of Security
You can use your GPS Snitch account to track other GPS Snitch units as well. Simply invite a family member or friend to join your tracking list, and your unit will be visible to them when you want it to be.
Good Luck

i read about some type of security/alarm system which is activated once someone breaks a window or causes immense stress to the vehicle, what happens is a fcking intense beam of light flashes and blinds the worthless scumbag thief permanently which gives you an opening to then run up to him as he's walking around like a blind douche and give him a fcking forearm to the back of the head and kick him repeatedly as he's rolling around on the ground.
you will probably get sued though for blinding him permanently

I often thought of leaving my car unlocked to make it easy for the thief to get into the car so that there is minimal damage to the car and then once in and the doors closed small high tensile dead bolts engage to lock the thief in the car and then a warning message plays with a count down to release of sleeping gas. Or just fill the car's cabin with NOS. That would knock him out until I got to the car and called the police. If that didn't work and the car was being towed away have a small charge on the magnesium valve cover set it on fire. That would generate some attention from the public or police.
