Probably brought an AEM computer or another computer with them, unplugged his and plugged theirs in.

dude, the first time you heard a loud banging sound and you went out to look, you should have went out to your car and inspected it. with a car like an evo with all those upgrades, i would NEVER EVER take any chances and think a loud banging sound in the proximity of my evo was nothing. to put my thoughts at ease i definitely would have walked around my evo to make sure nothing was wrong.

sorry to hear about your situation though, i hope everything works out for the best.

Man, that really sucks. I hope the insurance will get it settled. This is why you don't live in the city without a garage. They broke into my dad's 95' Toyota Avalon thinking that it might have present since it was xmas eve. Dumb asses didn't find anything. More than likely, that car is gone for good.

that made me laugh. I feel that. If I was a few seconds earlier or if I went out to my car when the dude was in it I woulda f'@ some sh$^ up. Cant stop thinkin about that. Alarm for sure. I like the idea that someone mentioned about the AEM and takin it with ya everywhere. Unfortunately that would mean that an alarm would not function and it will take them to bust in and bust out the steering column before they realize the car ain't goin anywhere.

Not trying to be disrespectful because what happened is a horrible situation, but I think you will know where I'm coming from.
I hear ya man. No disrespect taken. I am torn. My buddy keeps telli me the same thing "Trust me you don't want them to find it". If it is a total loss it would be ideal if JUst the engine and maybe the drivetrain is in it. Sell it back to me at the salvage value and I get a new evo and got the perfect drop in for it. But Im not holdin my breath for any scenario really. The waiting is the worst tho.

I got the key here. No bowtie or keys were left. The banging I heard I am sure was them busting the steering column open.

No I was in fact at home. I have a parking area opened up into an alley. A very narrow one at that. My neigbs got a Lancer GTS and the thief hit that on the way out too. No to truck would fit into my alley. That is a fact.

Yep I agree with you 100%. I assumed they would have to bust a window and mine were all intact. Retrovision is 2020 and living and learning is in full effect in this situation... and then some.
