Every iteration of the Evo has got the following changes:
1. Front bumper
2. Rear wing
3. Interior color
4. Wheels
5. Tires

Every Evo from 1 to 8 has got the above changes.
So, i would think that the Evo 9 wouldnt be any different and would incorporate those changes.

I would definitely be glad to see the Pontiac front end go away

Next years Evo

Anybody have any info on next years (2004) Evo? I'm wondering if there are any changes Mitsu plans on making, if they're gonna have more available, any different options... things like that. And do the '04 Evo's come out in September?

Evo 9 will come out, but not likely next year. Next year's evo will probably be like this year's evo, with all the problems fixed.

There going to just keep on producing the one they got now into 2004, since (im assuming) they did that with the Evo VII (Producing it for 2 years).

I have seen pictures of the supposed Evo 9 already. It has the headlights of the RalliArt Lancer that just came out in the US with a front bumper that looks like the Evo 5. The bumper looked pretty cool, but the headlights look fugly.

I think the front end looks better than what we got now, is it me, or does that rear spolier look higher than what we got now.

Oh my god. Im slvr's brother. I was looking into getting an EVO 9 when it was time, but now, ill never get it. They messed up BAD. Do they wanna lose money Those designers must have been when they slapped those UGLY headlights on that thing. And whats up with those soft little sedan fender flares on that thing?? I dont care if they have to put those foglights on it but just LEAVE THE HEADLIGHTS like they are. I mean i like it because its an EVO but im definately not feeling the headlights. I also wish the fender flares just....... flared a little more. However its just pre-production and it should probably change and hopefully will. I dont know, id still buy it and especially if it had the 2.4L 350 hp engine. Oh well, its an EVO.

i got a call from mitsu, kinda like a survey, wanting to know what i liked and i didnt. I posted this here cause it might give insight into next years evo. Here were some of the questions and how i rated them on a scale of 1-5:
Leather - 1
Brand Name Stereo - 1
Auto Tranny - 1
satellite radio - 1
Front LSD - 5
AYC - 5
VCD - 5

SO, at least its on the plate as a possibility for next year. I know the evo has always been limited production, but I always thought that they might bring over the GTA for us "fat americans." Maybe mutsu's planning on a 300-320 HP version w/ the above gear retailing as the Evo Ralliart for about $35-37K and still have the base evo like the '03 one (gotta outdo the STi, and possibly compete w/ the Nissan GTR in the US?). That's my speculation anyhow.
