Did anyone else get this call from Mitsu???

is doing an owner survey to help them decide what to offer for next year.
They need to be doing an owner survey to decide what they are going to fix THIS year. We drop 30 grand and they give us a 10,000 mile clutch. I might understand if the stock clutch could produce 1.4 second 60 foot times or something......but holy hell....

Yea, I agree. They need to take care of us first year owners, before they think about next year! Why does the US get stuck with the noises drivetrain ever? All the EVO techs are too quick to say, "Oh thats normal in a high performance car like the EVO"
BULL**** I had a highly modded WRX and its drivetrain sounded like a Cadillac compared to the EVOs....
And another thing they need to take note on is TRAINING THE DEALERSHIPS. Why do all my dealerships know jack ****? Are they just getting out of school? And why does it seem like every service manager is a lawyer on the side? Oh and I'm also VERY tired of hearing that if I dont use Amsoil my WHOLE warranty will be voided. Basically if you touch the car, the dealer THINKS the warrant is gone. Well, its not, they are just idiots. I had MMSA document on my personal record that using Amsoil 10w30 will in NO way void my warranty.
The dealers are too quick to jump to the "oh you put that exhaust on your car, so now were not going to warranty your transmission" or the "oh you put a drop in filter so now were not going to warranty your noise second gear synchro" type ****... They are JUST PLAIN STUPID.
I rather be charged $5000 LESS and recieve no warranty because it basically doesnt do you any good.

The dealership where I got my Evo was really cool. First off, you have to find a dealer in your area that has a service department you can live with. If you live in a small area, that might be hard. I was lucky and mine is really cool about mods for the car. I asked them about changing to a 3 inch turbo back exhaust and they said "how will freeing up the exhaust track hurt the car? As long as it still has a cat, even a high flowing cat, then it is ok. But if you are going to run the car with an open header, that is a different story, there needs to be SOME backpressure there, but 3 inch will not make us void your warranty." (or something like that). Same with the intake. I asked about the hard intake pipe that Buschur Racing sells and some other people are also selling and they said as long is the compressor bypass valve is plumed back into the intake track and the Mass Air is not altered, it will not be a problem. My salesman even said "you know, changing your shift knob isn't going to burn up your turbo." just out of the blue. Like he knew the routine and had seen many other dealerships try to void warranties for mods that were irrelevant to breakdowns and such.
Other than maybe the distance issue, what is keeping you from taking your Evo to another dealership that has trained Evo techs and a lot friendlier service department?

Both the Auburn and Renton Mitsu both suck *** here. Sad thing is, the Renton one, has techs that both have 400WHP DSMs... but they still play games.. they are in it for the dealer, not for me.

Man, I think all people at dealerships are stupid nowadays. They do not know anything about the cars they are selling, specially the EVO! All they tell you are the Brembos, intercooler spray, recaros, but ask them about the EVO 7, ACD, boost, exhaust diameter, and they will give you some lame, out of this universe response like 10psi or "well, its four wheel drive and it is better that the STI because its actually faster or it has HID or some BS".
God, we'd make a killing being EVO or any car salesmen (or salesperson).
Lomax: Sorry dude. Active Center Differential and its actually Super Active Yaw Control. Try looking for the Top Gear review on the Evo 8 and STI and you will see the light!!!

I know... I wish I could sell EVOs to people... I think anyone on this forum could...
Why couldnt we just purchase our EVO from the factory? Have it sent directly to our house? Why do we even need to go to the damn dealership, put up with their ****, give them a check for $30k, when I could have just wrote that check to MMSA.

In the US we're not allowed to order directly from the factory thanks to politicians stepping in and requiring us to go through a dealership. If you didn't have to go to a dealer to buy a car the car dealerships would be SOL cause theres no way in hell a person would go to a dealership and put up with their crap. Hell they would be stuck relying on their service department alone which most of us don't bother with anyways and damn sure wouldn't unless its for a part covered under warranty. That is when they actually honor their warranty.
Hey Everybody! I'm new to the board, but I've been a dsm'r for over 7 years. 1st and 2nd gen eclipse turbos. My wife just got back from Stohlman Mitsubishi in NOVA picking up a new door handle for my 99gst (don't ask!). We are planning on picking up a 2004 EVO this spring once the eclipse is paid off, and one of the new car salesmen told her they are only getting 15 more this year and do not have any allotment for 2004. He even proceeded to tell her that Mitsubishi is not making the evo for 2004? I'm sure this is total BS and just pressure to get the car now, but I just wanted to see if anybody had heard this? Thanks and keep up the posts, I’ve enjoyed getting to know the EVO through you guys!
This has been talked about on this board, it really comes down to
not really saying much about 2004 right now. Pretty much everyone assumes that there will be a 2004 model as it does not make much sense for one year on a car that
is hoping to bring their image back on.
