2004 MY Evo | All Goes in Here. Anything and Everything. [All Threads MERGED]
Well what about that survey US EVO owners are getting about what they would've liked in their EVO: Stereo, ACY, 6Speed, etc...
Shouldn't that maybe be a bit of an indicator that they are intending updates to the 2004/5's etc.? Also during the Mitsu press release of the EVO in Janurary at LA Auto show the CEO of US Mitsu cars sure sounded to me that they intend this to be a new line of vehicles for them here in the US. Also if I remember right he did say something about sales to raise after the initial release (word of mouth gets out sort of thing).
I also am planning on a 2004, but if it is a confirmed position of Mitsu USA to not release a 2004 model I will be one of many scrambling for one of the 2003 models.

I hope they put out the new Mitsu 2 door Colt with the Evo drivetrain in 2004.
That would totally rock!
Short wheelbase, lightweight, maneuverable and hopefully, better interior and a non-pontiac frontend.

Just got back from a
meeting. There will be NO changes to the 2004 Evolution.
The model year designation for the Evolution is just something that is required in the US, but everywhere else in the world, it's just an Evo 8. Until it goes to an Evo 9, there will be no changes.
Sorry to disappoint anyone, but it's the truth.
On further note, 2004 Evo's will not hit dealers until most likely Feburary '04.
All of this was confirmed today.

So with all these confirmations and speculations going around, who do I need to talk to at Mitsubishi to explain they need 3 things on an Evo to earn my business?
1. Cruise Control
2. Complete Under Car Aerodynamic Paneling - smooth bottom
3. 6 Speed Sequential Manual Transmission

I'll be happy if they don't make any changes between 2003 and 2004. Well, they need to fix the discrepancies, but they don't need to go and put different headlights, different bumpers, different wheels...........all that junk. The longer the car can remain on the market unchanged will keep the resale of them up, and will make part availability more.......um..............available.
But I would like to see a Evo package that gives you blue shift knob, blue hand brake cover, blue pedals, blue gauges, and of course, OEM blue neon underbody lights. They could call it the Evo Type R....wait, Type R is red.....um.......what Type is blue?
