2004 MY Evo | All Goes in Here. Anything and Everything. [All Threads MERGED]
can we stop this idiocy... FOR GODS SAKE!
Why in gods name would mitsubishi release a GTA version of the evolution with all this extra performance stuff and no power windows, locks etc.?
EVO SPECIALIST is pulling all this info out his ***...FACT
Mitsubishi is trying to NOT go bankrupt...doing something like offering a 35k dollar car without windows and locks has absolutely ZERO market.
People forget the same damn thing happened with Japanese sports cars in the 90's... Notice the RX8 and 350Z both have less power and cost significantly less than their previous versions. The next gen Supra is going to be the same way.
I personally love my car, but wouldn't be suprised in the least if both the STI and EVO are canned in less than five years...

The sports cars of the 90s had many strikes against them. Impractical. Escalating Cost. Increasing complexity. Twin Turbos, Active Aero, 4 wheel steering. Too many gadgets. 2 door 2 seaters are just not practical, especially ones with seats 6 inches of the ground.
The 4 door sport sedan market is just waking up. When a ~$30k sports sedan is compared to the 911 and Z06, a LOT of people take notice.
So Mitsu Bring me a 6spd SMT, CC, and FUAP!
Or Subaru Bring me a Sunroof, fixed gear ratios with a SMT, and FUAP.
Or Puegot, Ford, Hyundai and Citreon can bring their 4 door AWD WRC like vehicles to the US market

First off: the one without the amenities is the RS, and I agree that it would be virtual suicide for Mitsu to bring a car without AC or power windows to us fat, lazy Americans. However, the GT-A version would be perfect for mitsubishis model lineup to play around in the luxury sport sedan market. I would love an RS model (albeit with AC as I live in Florida) but I really dont believe its going to happen without some changes to the model to make Americans accepting of it. Also, I highly doubt the existing market for the Evolution can support 3 different models of basically the same vehicle. I can see a spot for the GT-A, but sadly America just isnt ready for an RS. And of course the Evo and STi will be canned within 5 years... I would expect less time actually. Dont be naiive and expect this car to last.
As for my wish for the 2k4 Evo - Please give us the god damn JDM seats... **** the fat people, this is a performance car we dont need damn wide-*** (pun intended) seats. Other wishes - JDM body kit (VII or VIII will do fine); a bit more power but keep the 2.0L forever -- stay true to WRC; and the JDM color palette... so much nicer. I can do without a 6-speed and AYC/ACD is not worth the money and maintainence to most users...
Oh, and what is a FUAP? It seems to have slipped my mind.

There will be changes some time or another...to be sure...
Maybe the EVO gets acouple gadgets/revamped performance... I don't really care... If your going to bet...bet on a budget AWD lancer... probably non-turbo...

But why would they put in a boost gauge? Mitsubishi knows what they set it at. They don't want you to tinker with the car for warranty purposes, so they don't necessarily care if you can see what the boost pressure is, you can read about it in the manual or the brochure. The only reason to have a boost gauge is if you have added a boost controller and/or a bigger turbo, then your on your own.

offered the car in the charcoal color.
