whoa whoa whoa, 2.5L for the ralliart? This is like a WHOLE new evo. A new engine would make it a new car altogether, not just an upgraded evo. Aye yay yay.

How could you possibly make the comment that you went to the dealer meeting, saw the information...Then your not sure if It has a 2.5L engine? 340hp? (And obviously a 2.5L would be a hell of an anouncement) No offense, but you have about as much of a clue as my mom. (And she is quite a car nut I must say)

The Evos always had higher powered versions sold by Ralliart.
The UK Evos have various versions ranging from 340 hp to over 400hp, tuned by Ralliart. It is more like a version put out by a tuner company but with warranty.

In Japan, they also have "special" editions of Evos that have more power than the regular ones and comes with factory warranty and all that.

You do pay a lot more though. You can get the same or more power by doing it yourself for less money but you lose the warranty.

So your saying 2 lines, the ralliart evo and our regular evolution So where does the RS fit

I would laugh if the STi spec C comes out before the Ralliart Evo. Anyways, I feel most of the people whom wanted a rally car already purchased the WRX, Evo, and STi so the majority of the ppl will not be ready to purchase until 2005 realistically.

If is reading this I ask for ONE thing on the 04s and ONE for us 03 guinea pigs. For the 04's make sure you aren't showed up in the numbers game, 29 hp and 27 ft lb of tq can safely and easily be extracted from this car. For us 03 owners, give us the FQ-300 package warrantied like you do for the UK and Japan. Being a little more reasonable on warranty issues and showing some pride in the heritage of the car, Ralliart, and in your corporate moniker itself, Mitsubishi would go a long way in re-establishing yourself to respectability while not alienating any repeat buyers such as myself.

I would hate to see a 2.5L engine in an Evo. Evo gets my respect for doing all the things it does w/ 2L engine. If they raise it to 2.5L, that's like admitting that STi was a better idea. I would hate to see that since 2L Evo, at least in my eyes, was better than the STi...

If you don't like the thread just ignore it. Anyways these threads are good right after the Las Vegas dealer meeting. Sometimes the people will give us clues or tell us bits of infomation to help make our next car purchases.

They probably merge it anyways.

Uhm, just to clear a few things up, theres not going to be a Lancer Evolution Ralliart, its going to be a Lancer Ralliart which is basically going to fill the gap inbetween the Base Lancer and the Evolution, a 2.4L I-4 making around 170HP some suspension tweaks, etc, etc, etc.

If its true, Mits is making a smart move if they bring over the Galant VR4.

Good luck, besides learning to speak and understand it, you have to learn to read kanji, katakana, and hiragana. Kanji is the hardest (Chinese characters) and even the Japanese spend years learning the minimum number of kanji required to qualify as literate adults. They do that through their grade school years.

I lived there 8 years and still can't read nearly as many kanji as I'd like. Granted, I never attended Japanese school or formally studied kanji, so I didn't do myself any favors.

It's an interesting language and culture. Just don't think in 6 months you are going to be translating car magazines for your buddies.
