As far as being Photo Shopped.....I don't know. The lights on the supposed Evo 9 are off of the new style RalliArt that Mitsu just came out with. I have heard that the car has also came out as the base model lancer over in Austrailia.

The one that shows the Evo 8 and the "Evo 9" together in the same pic is obviously an artist sketch to show the basic changes that are in the planning right now for the car. The one that is red and from a Hong Kong magazine....If that is Photo Shopped, then they have some serious talent. The shading is perfect and they were able to find 2 different pics of that bumper, one from above and one from the exact angle that the car is driving at and made them match up flawless. If that's a Photo Shop, then that guy needs to start working for some movie production company creating CGI stuff because he sure has some skill.

Oh well, maybe I am just easily fooled.

I know they don't run MY's like the standard lancer, but those headlights are already on the new 04 Lancer sport wagon. I'd count on seeing them on the 04 Evo's, what ever designation they are.

It's like a "2 Fast 2 Furious" package that you can get or something. Looks like they will be the standard on the 04 Lancer, probably on the 04 Evo as well. Let's hope not.

I haven't seen to many good things from Mitsu come out for cars that were in the US for only a couple of years before a change like this. Remember the 95-96 Eclipse? The factory front end was different thatn the 97-99 Eclipse and aftermarket parts are hard to find for the front end even today. Oh well, just a thought.

JBA in Glen Burnie MD tried some BS like that today when I stopped in there. I couldn't even talk to the sales manager and the cheapest Evo there today was listed at $35K. No thanks I'll just wait however long it takes to either find somebody selling theirs or until the 04s go to come out and they pull their head out their asses with the 03s.

The salesman tried to tell me they were only selling a couple hundred US wide this year and that no dealership in the US is selling Evos for less then them.

I got a call from some woman from Mitsu. She asked me if I would like to see the 6 speed and Front LSD come to the States next year. I told her **** YES. She said she would note my comment. And yes I did say the F word lol. She didnt say anything about AYC though...

The first thing she said was, "since I was one of the first to get the EVOs, bla bla bla."

Did anyone else get this call from Mitsu???

Well, Let Me Ask It This Way

When will we know for sure what next year's model will consist of? That is, officially.

I take the point about Mitsubishi not wanting to boost the price too much by adding too many new features, but I figure they've got a couple of thousand bucks to play with, with the STI being about $2K more currently.

On the other hand, I'm willing to wait to find out for sure.

Cheers from a Supra owner who would like a second car.

Since you were one of the first to get the Evo............you are eligible for a discount when it becomes available?.....your car might be a test bed to see if it is really advantageous on the US roads?......your car could not have them as a bolt up upgrade later on if they do become available?...........Please finish what she said to you.

Thats all she told me. I tried to get more info out of her, but it was just like she was calling all the EVO owners in the area to ask them a few questions. Anything I asked her, that she didnt have info for, she simply said she would take note of it.

She told me to rate how I like the engine, transmission, brakes, everything. I gave everything 5's except for the transmission setup. I told her about the decel whine, notchy shifting, grinding in 2nd, and other members that have the grinding in 5th issue. Again she told me she would just take note of it.

****, I just realized that my number has changed since I gave the info to Mitsu when I bought the car. I hope I can give them the new info and have them redirect that call to me. I want a part of this.

definately... call the 1-800 number and ask them about it.

it kind of caught me by surprise... you could tell the lady just had a list of questions she had to read off. I doubt she had any technical knowledge, so she just took notes of everything I said..

Like a Mitsu telemarketer...hehehe...Will the insanity ever end?

It was like that with my 1990 GSX also. There is a huge recall on the transfer cases on that car. When I called about the recall.......the dude just read off a list of things like he was takin a survey. If you are a 1990 AWD DSM driver and you don't know about this problem, pm me and I will send you the link of what the problem is along with the recall number. You MUST get this problem fixed and it is free no matter how old your car is. Ok......off-topic now. Continue the 1G DSM part in PM if you want.
