Sunroof issues
Sunroof issues
So today my sun roof decided to have issues. I opened it and it made a loud, rapid clicking sound for a second once it fully opend. then I "closed" it and i got out of the car, and looked at it. Well, the back of it was lower than the roof, but the front was flush. So i tried opening it and reclosing it. After about 20 mins of messing with it it had gone from that problem, to still making the clicking noise, not wanting to go all the way forward, not willing to tilt, and the back of it just would not go up
. It was about to rain so i had my friend hold the button for it to go forward while i pushed the sunroof forward, i finally got it all the way forward but the back just wouldnt go up, so i pushed it up but it wouldnt stay up. I got it to stay almost flush, like 1/8th of an inch too low in the back, so i just put a small piece of card board under it to hold it flush. Now no matter what direction i push the button, it wont move BUT i can hear the motor. Whats going on?

It's times like this that makes me wish I didn't get an SSL Evo.
I remember in my friend's BMW, we would have a screwdriver and some pliers and manually crank the sunroof closed everytime we used it. Perhaps there is a way to do it here so you can at least it get it properly shut while you wait to have it fixed.

Is your car still under warranty? Put that thing to some use.
The same thing happened to me, i searched evom found a sunroof fix in the DIY section. followed that and it was 100% correct. from vibration the sunroof motor bolts vibrate loose and fall out, as soon as i dropped my headliner the bolts fell right on my head. put alot of locktite on them and put them back in havent had a problem since.
This is the link for the DIY

Followed the how to today and it worked. The screws fell on me when i took the headliner out, and the motor was just hanging by the wires. The visor clips are the biggest PITA EVER!!! theres really no way to explain how to do it, they took so long to get out. And getting the headliner out from behind the pillars that the seatbelts are on isnt too fun either. But it really wasnt that hard. And it works now

Oh and btw mike, i got the turbo timer all hooked up
now i just have to figure out why my wideband is only displaying 14.7 after it goes through the start up cycle
I bet I know the asnwer to that one too. The wideband has HORRIBLE connections for somereason I got them that way. the harness clips behind the gauge all the wires slide out like nothing. I had to actually go online and find the pin out and put them back in at one point because that happend to me.
